As an Assistant Vice President, you'll be the primary marketing partner with the Nationwide Retirement Institute, an industry leading thought leadership organization focused on improving financial outcomes for all Americans. You will lead a team that develops and optimizes the content marketing strategy to drive brand awareness, financial professional engagement, and sales enablement. You'll lead our Financial Services diverse markets marketing and further drive our vision to connect content to business outcomes.
Job Description
Reporting Relationships: Reports to Vice President, Nationwide Financial Marketing Integration. Manages a team of approximately nine associates; five directly and four indirect associates.
Core Duties and Responsibilities:
Leads team responsible for delivering simplified, cross-brand content that demonstrates Nationwide as the simplicity brand.
Partners closely with Nationwide Retirement Institute (NRI) to deliver brand platform and timely pulse content; influence strategy, public relations survey input and activation; integrate with all paid, earned and owned assets, and ensure ongoing optimization of content for those assets. Increases consumer awareness of Nationwide as a financial services company.
Drives diverse markets marketing strategy in alignment with NRI. Supports the Financial Alliance for Racial Equity (FARE), that advances impactful solutions and lasting change for increasing diversity in the financial services industry. Directs marketing promotion and content placement of NRI diverse markets programs and is also the integration lead for financial services business with enterprise diverse markets.
Collaborates with other financial services marketing teams and NRI to use thought leadership effectively for product launches, journeys and sales enablement. Optimizes and expands to support personalization at scale efforts.
Enhances experience and furthers our strategy to be financial professionals go-to resource for digital financial and retirement planning content through the NRI on demand series, NRI meeting shop, and content support of the NF.com refresh.
Manages to budget and forecasts spending. Figures out return on investment and evaluates effectiveness of marketing programs; adjusts accordingly.
Manages and develops associates including, performance management, salary planning and administration, development, workflow and organizational planning, hiring and placement.
Performs other responsibilities as assigned.
Typical Skills and Experiences:
Education: Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing or business preferred; MBA preferred.
License/Certification/Designation: Role requires FINRA Series 26, 6 licenses. Will be required to acquire within 120 days of hire.
Experience: Ten or more years of marketing experience, including lead generation, public relations, content development and people management. Experience in financial services a plus.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Knowledge of direct marketing platforms (particularly Marketing Cloud) and how to run and optimize successful campaigns. Ability to deliver compelling content that drives action. Skilled at storytelling, particularly with the media and in activating sales teams. Demonstrated skills in leading a marketing program driven by data, including analysis, targeting and measurement. Skilled at being an inspiring leader; planning; being curious; and resourceful.
Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.
