PRINCIPLE OBJECTIVES The principle objectives for the NOV Regional Sales Manager include effective management of sales channels within the region including selecting, evaluating and managing industrial distributors and municipal sales representatives, new customer development, direct sales to Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) and selected End Users, while achieving NOVs sales growth and profitability targets. Management in business and organizations is the function that coordinates the efforts of people to accomplish goals and objectives using available resources efficiently and effectively

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Achieves assigned monthly, quarterly and annual booking (order) and sales (shipment) targets.

Achieves financial objectives by managing expenses within established budgets.

Manages and interprets customer requirements and technical specifications, generates client quotations, negotiates contract terms, resolves customer problems, offers after-sales support services, and works closely with internal departments, suppliers and external technical experts.

Achieves sales objectives by setting quotas with distributors and facilitating distributor success by training personnel on all aspects related to our partnership and assisting in the presentation of products to customers.

Provides and is responsible for providing useful and accurate monthly, quarterly and annual forecasts for their area of responsibility.

Improves distribution channel by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, encouraging, and managing distributors.

Maintains the best distribution channel in any given geographic area. Accomplishes distributor results by communicating expectations; planning, monitoring, coaching, counselling and appraising distributor results.

Provides timely reports to management to review promotional activity; reporting business opportunities, results, trends, and competitive information.

Expands quality of service by enforcing organizations standards.

Increases professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.

Attends trade shows. Participates in education and training conferences on selling and marketing programs. Coordinates and assists in leading sales meetings

Stays current with knowledge of new products, services and other general information of interest to customers. Checks on competitive activity and reports findings to management.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

A 4-year Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or business is preferred. Extensive experience in related work will be considered as a substitute.

EXPERIENCE

Candidates must possess a minimum of five (5) years demonstrated experience in outside sales of industrial rotating equipment and strong mechanical and technical skills. Industrial positive displacement pump or industrial mixing product sales are preferred. Demonstrated problem solving and negotiation skills, demonstrated understanding of the applications and markets for positive displacement pumps or industrial mixing product.

Familiarity with the region's geographic area and the customers within that area is preferred. Skills in time management, scheduling, customer reporting, and distributor/representative management is critical to success.
