We are driving the evolution of storage software, operating systems, and applications to deliver on the full potential of SSDs and persistent memory technologies. We are looking for a versatile Staff Software Engineer to participate in both software validation and workload analysis projects. This is a phenomenal opportunity for this individual to have a real impact on our product and processes.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
* Technically lead software quality assurance (SQA) and test automation functions for open source enterprise storage software
* Make strategic decisions and develop automation frameworks, test methodologies, quality metrics and tools to build outstanding system software reliability, availability, and performance
* Design, prototype and develop Linux-based system software
* Develop and contribute to outstanding quality process
* Mentor the next generation of software quality professionals
* Collaborate closely with multi-functional teams for end-to-end testing, performance analysis of databases, and real-time data pipeline applications
Qualifications and Skills include, but not limited to:
* 5+ years of proven experience with BS or MS in Computer Science (or related fields)
* Hands-on Experience with Python or any other object-oriented programming language
* Experience with databases, such as Redis or MongoDB; key-value stores, such as HSE or RocksDB; and real-time data pipeline applications, such as Apache Kafka and Druid
* Experience working with cloud storage applications like Ceph or AWS EBS
* Knowledge of Linux operating system, file systems, and volume manager
* Background in server systems architecture and memory subsystems
* Excellent understanding of quality processes, test planning, and design/functional reviews practices
* Experience with testing open source software
* Proven grasp of SQA automation processes and DevOps practice (pytest, JIRA, Jenkins etc)
* Ability to learn and excel
