Responsibilities and Duties include but not limited to:
Maxims Cloud and Data Center Business Unit continues to develop its next generation optical communication ICs and is looking for highly motivated senior level mixed-signal IC design leaders to join our team.

Job Description:

Responsibilities:

* Lead next-generation optical PAM4 serial links transceiver design developments.
* Own IC design specifications and schedule from start of design to production release.
* Provide technical guidance and leadership to design and layout project team members.
* Develop architectural and transistor level design solutions.
* Support customers and development of product requirements.
* Perform initial hands-on lab verification and debug.
* Direct product engineering, applications, and test in full-chip validation.

Qualifications:

* Leading and designing digitally assisted analog 50GBd and higher PAM4 serial links. Experience with Optical PAM4 serial links a plus.
* Developing system level matlab (or similar) models, and abstraction of complex circuit behavior to assess complete serdes link and block/architecture sensitivity.
* Developing and assessing serdes link budgets end-to-end.
* Designing key blocks including TIA, LNA, LA, CTLE, FFE, DFE, CDR, CML Drivers and support blocks, e.g. bias, analog and mixed-signal control loops, ADCs, and DACs.
* Developing digital adaptation algorithms for channel optimization and calibration.
* Strong transistor level fundamentals and semiconductor device understanding.
* Ability to design custom inductors, T-coils, and transmission line elements.
* Solid understanding of electromagnetics effects and experience with EM modeling.
* Hands on experience with high frequency lab characterization equipment.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
