Chapter Next is a 12-16 week paid returnship hosted by RMS. Candidates who have taken a professional career hiatus for at least 2+ years will be eligible to apply to this program.

During this returnship participants will become part of a community of similarly experienced professionals with challenging work scopes that contribute to the great innovation produced by Lockheed Martin. Selected candidates will be exposed to comprehensive training, professional development opportunities, networking opportunities, and individual based mentoring.

Our goal is to provide the fundamental tools needed to be successful in your career field, and to potentially prepare you for an opportunity to join Lockheed Martin full-time. Fields of focus will be diverse across the program and include functional and technical opportunities.

This returnship position is for a Radar Systems Engineer working in Moorestown, New Jersey. As an engineering returnship participant in the Radar Systems Engineering (RSE) department, you will be a part of the team responsible for supporting the design, analysis, and requirements verification of legacy and solid-state radar systems. The successful candidate will have strong analytic and communication skills and work well in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary environment. Occasional travel may be required.

The Radar Systems Engineer will have responsibilities in one or more of the following domains:

- Serve as a Control Account Manager (CAM) by managing cost, schedule, and technical performance of a radar program cost account.

- Apply advanced technologies, scientific principles, theories and concepts to develop revolutionary system solutions.

- Perform functional analysis, design trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

- Develop models and detailed simulations to assess system performance.

- Support integration and test, evaluate test results, investigate discrepancies, provide technical assessment of anomalies, and drive issues to resolution.

- Conduct system verification and support certification activities.
Basic Qualifications:
BS in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science/Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or equivalent. Demonstrated strong teamwork, communication (both verbal and written), and presentation skills. Experience with Matlab, Python, C++ or equivalent high-level computing language. Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas: system analysis, architecture, design, requirements development, modeling and simulation, or integration and test.
Qualified candidate must be able to obtain & maintain a secret security clearance. (To obtain a clearance, you must be a US Citizen)
Desired Skills:
Experience as a Control Account Manager (CAM). Experience performing trades studies, requirements development - analysis, derivation, allocation, and documentation, engineering design and development, software development processes and Systems and software modeling. Familiarity with design, tools and environments for radar systems and subsystems for performance analysis and modeling. Familiarity with computer architectures and algorithm development for a range of system/subsystem applications. Strong interpersonal skills with comfort working on geographically diverse teams. Strong communication skills, (written and verbal). Able to work independently or as a member of a team.
