Work location for this position is south of Annapolis MD area. This position is for a Facilities Maintenance Team position supporting operations and maintenance for a large scale RF Communications system operating in real time 24x7 environment. Primary responsibility will be to provide facilities maintenance support for a large, integrated, complex hardware-software communications system. Responsibilities include preventative and corrective maintenance support across multiple facilities and infrastructure systems. Direct interaction with ops customer and mission partners is required to provide technical assessment and operational work around recommendations. Daily activities may include, but are not limited to, discrepancy report work off and resolution, trending, procedure review, data collection, fault isolation, and performing real-time manual actions to restore system capabilities. Additional Daily activities include; building maintenance, grounds maintenance and janitorial. Participation in corrective maintenance will require remove/replace, repair, and testing failed hardware. The facilities technician will work closely with delivering factories to provide support to development activities, installation efforts, and special test configurations. The facilities technician should have a solid working knowledge of HVAC, UPS, generators, grounding, and various electrical and mechanical systems. Performance of maintenance activities will include climbing multiple sets of stairs, lifting/carrying up to 50lbs, and working in non-environmentally controlled work spaces to include outdoors. Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information prior to starting.
Basic Qualifications:
-Current TS/SCI clearance
-Strong oral and written communication skills
-Must be able to climb multiple sets of stars, lift/carry up to 50lbs, and work in non-environment-controlled work spaces.
-Knowledge of or ability to understand basic electrical and mechanical systems that encompass a wide range of facilities support equipment.
Desired Skills:
-Experience on small maintenance teams
-Knowledge and experience with facility support systems for RF terminal systems (power, HVAC, etc.)
-Prior military electronics and/or satellite communications training/experience
-Minimum of 2 years technical experience with facilities systems supporting RF communication antennas and associated transmit and receive hardware systems.
