The Lockheed Martin Artificial Intelligence Center (LAIC) team is seeking a high energy systems engineer to support the AI Factory, an enterprise Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence (ML/AI) platform. In this role, you will be embedded in the AI Factory team working along side data engineers, ML/AI engineers, product managers, and data scientists. The selected candidate will focus on delivery of ML/AI computing resources and services. Additionally, they will contribute to a broad range of projects across the enterprise to increase machine learning availability and value to Lockheed Martin.
The selected candidate will:
Work closely with other AI/ML and Data Engineering Subject Matter Experts
Work closely with IT, Cybersecurity, and Engineering teams for on-premises and cloud deployments of the platform
Build and maintain complex computing environments to train, deploy, and operate Artificial Intelligence systems
Ensure that user and technical issues are promptly prioritized and resolved
Monitor resource usage and planning for increased capacity
Must be a US Citizen
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Computer Science from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
Familiarity with Kubernetes, including distributions (Openshift, Rancher, GKE)
Familiarity with Containers, including Open Container Initiative (OCI) and Docker
Familiarity with diverse IT principles, including Networking, Storage, Computing, Security, and Distributed Services
Familiarity with Programming and Scripting, such as Python, Go, Bash
Strong oral and written communication skills, and ability to collaborate with cross-functional partners
Organized with a knack for managing complex environments
Creative and resourceful when it comes to problem-solving
A passionate can-do attitude. You are not afraid to try, learn, and improve
Self-motivated, self-directed, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment in an industry that constantly changes
Will be required to come on-site in Shelton, CT for infrastructure and server room related activities when necessary

Familiarity with DevSecOps software development practices
Familiarity with Pipeline Automation, such as ArgoCD, Tekton, Gitlab CI/CD
Knowledge of Monitoring and Performance, such as Prometheus, Grafana, Dynatrace, Sysdig
Knowledge of Storage, such as Ceph, NetApp, Object/S3
Knowledge of Machine Learning Architectures, including GPU Computing, High Performance Computing (HPC)
