SOVAH Health - Martinsville

Provides security services to ensure a safe environment for staff and visitors. Duties include general patrolling, documentation of an event occurring during work, assisting medical staff with combative patients and visitors. Security officers will maintain the recording of all CCTV cameras and operate the in-house access control system. Security will also be responsible for the securing and distribution of patient valuables. Security will assist Facilities Mgmt. with light maintenance during off hours, this shall include, but not be limited to, changing light bulbs, adjusting heating/cooling, and obtaining equipment readings and some preventive maintenance assignments.

Job Requirements

Minimum Education
High school diploma or equivalent required.

Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Required to have a good problem solving skills in order to deal with infinite variables when dealing with situations. Ability to convey chain of events in both verbal and written form. Ability to deal with difficult and sometimes dangerous situations with tact and respect. Good memory skills. Knowledge of OSHA and NFPA and Joint Commission codes. Basic computer operation knowledge.

Ability to stand/walk 95% of an 8 hr. shift. Ability to tolerate both cold and hot weather conditions. Ability to push or pull up

To 500lbs. Ability to lift 75 lbs. Ability to ascend/descend multiple flights of stairs. Ability to work at heights.

Required Skills
Certifications:
Healthcare Provider (BLS) American Heart Association (AHA) required within 60 days from date of hire. Therapeutic Options Certification required within 30 day from date of hire.

Required Skills
Licenses: Must be 21 years old or older: clean driving and criminal record. Prior experience in Security, Safety, Police Work, or healthcare is desirable.
