Georgetown Community Hospital
The incumbents primary focus is to assist the provider to provide service to patients of all ages. The incumbent will carry-out her/his duties by adhering to the highest standards of ethical and moral conduct, acts in the best interest of GCH, and fully supports the code of conduct, mission, vision, and values of Georgetown Community Hospital. The incumbent will have knowledge of health care systems, and have demonstrated ability to interact, relate to, work with, and support the activities of a diverse workforce.
1. Assist the Provider to provide service to patients of all ages including evaluation, planning, individual treatment programs goals and other related duties within the designated scope of the practice.
2. Responsible for calling in/e-scribe medication to pharmacies in accordance with clinic protocol. Triage patient calls and answering patient questions. Obtains vitals, patient and medication history
3. Assist with monitoring and management of patient and physician electronic messages as delegated by the provider within scope of practice.
4. Assists in minor procedures, sterile prep and supplies
5. Notifies patients of lab and diagnostic test results under the direct supervision of the health care provider.
6. Assists in the general operation of the physician office.
7. Maintains confidentiality and protects privacy of healthcare information, security of password, and access codes.
8. Maintains a clean and well organized work station, follows all safety regulations, code of conduct and ethics, Revenue Cycle Guidelines, customer service, and attends hospital and clinical training and departmental staff meetings.
9. Assists with referrals, prior authorizations, & pre-certifications
10. Other duties as assigned including Medicare AWV, Quality Measures, Transitional Care Management and Population Health, front desk registration and check out duties.
Job Requirements
Graduate of a state accredited medical assistant program or certification.
Credentialed through the Certifying Board (CB) of the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) ,The National Healthcare Association (NHA) or The American Medical Technologists (AMT)
BLS required.
