Valley View Medical Center

Performs various imaging procedures in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice in the cardiac cath lab.

Assist the physician in performing angiographic and interventional fluoroscopic, DSA, and CINE procedures on assigned patients for the diagnosis of a wide variety of cardiac and vascular problems.

Performs various procedures including left and right heart catheterization, percutaneous coronary interventions, pacemaker/AICD insertion, peripheral angiography, peripheral interventions, and vena cava filter replacements.

Performs additional procedures including intravascular ultrasound, fractionated flow reserve studies, as well as proficient using thrombectomy devices and peripheral arthrectomy devices. Inserts and maintains intra-aortic balloon pumps, temporary pacemakers and swan-ganz catheters.

Maintains sterile field. Safely prepares and labels all medications on the sterile field. Continually accounts for number and location of instruments, sharps, sponges to prevent retained foreign objects.

Operates and maintain fluoroscopy equipment.

Inserts PICC lines utilizing ultrasound or fluoroscopy guidance. This includes removal, maintenance, and troubleshooting PICC lines.

Job Requirements

Minimum Education
Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology
Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association X Required
Advance Cardiac Life Support - American Heart Association - accepted

(If the employee has ACLS, BLS would not be required)
