Watertown Regional Medical Center
The Invasive Cardiovascular Technician provides direct patient care to adult patients undergoing a variety of diagnostic and interventional cardiology and interventional radiology procedures throughout the peri-procedural time period. This position addresses the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment. Responsible for preparing the procedure room, instruments, equipment, and supplies needed for procedures. Assists the physician with passing instruments, sutures, sponges, operation of table and imaging equipment, and maintaining aseptic technique. Assists with the maintenance of equipment and inventory. Obtains supplies for individual cases and ensures all appropriate needs of the Heart and Vascular suite team are met. Monitors, positions, and assists the patient during procedures.
Job Requirements
Associate degree in a scientific field, preferred.
Graduate of accredited school of cardiovasculartechnology, or graduate from an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology,preferred.
Five years of experience in healthcare required.
Previous Cardiac catheterization lab,Electrophysiology Lab, Interventional Radiology, experience preferred. Generalradiology experience will be considered.
Current BLS provider and ACLS experiencerequired.
RCIS or ARRT certification preferred.
Previous experience with arterial lines and swan-ganzcatheters, EKG and hemodynamic pressure tracings interpretation preferred.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Ability to work with and operate a variety oftechnical equipment including x-ray table, camera, digital recording equipment,ultrasound machine, pressure injectors.
Follow procedures related to positionaccountabilities.
