Title: Part-Time Student-Data Analytics-Cary NC - 70953

The Part-Time Student Program is primarily designed to augment the Companys regular full-time staff and is for students who work in parallel to their school schedule.

Note: With COVID-19, the job can be done remotely for the present time subject to the managers direction and timeframe. Longer term, the position will be located at the physical facility.

Your Responsibilities

Product Delivery Analytics generates descriptive and predictive analytics, data visualizations, and data driven alerts in support of developing and improving John Deere products. As a member of a team, you will work to understand business processes, wrangle data and generate analytics insights to support critical EPDP (Enterprise Product Delivery Process) activities.

* Understand the EPDP process, the data and existing descriptive analytics reports
* Work with end users and consumers of our data to understand their behaviors and needs
* Work in multiple tools and programming languages to acquire data (Alteryx, R, Python, SQL)
* Operate in a variety of front-end tools to visualize the data (Tableau, Power BI)
* Perform statistical studies to examine correlation and causation within data sets (Excel, Alteryx, R, Python)
* Work with embedded data scientists to develop and validate prescriptive machine learning models

What Skills You Need

* Ideally you will be pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Management Information System, or Business Administration or any certificates in regard to data analytics; others may apply
* Must be registered as a full-time student at a local accredited university
* Graduation date of December 2022 or later
* Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above
* Must be able to commute to the work location on a daily basis
* Must be avaialble to work 16-20 hours/week during the academic year
* Must be avaialble to work 35-40 hours/week during the summer semester
* Willingness to learn new tools and languages
* Experience using MS Excel or similar spreadsheet tools (Google Sheets, etc.)
* Base knowledge of statistics (Mean, Median, Standard Deviation, etc.)

What Makes You Stand Out

* Understanding of databases, data joins, and graphing/charting.
* Experience with data visualization tools a plus, but not required (Tableau, Power BI, R-Shiny)
* Experience with data acquisition and transformation a plus, but not required (Alteryx, R, Python, SQL)
