Ingredion is hiring a Senior Data Scientist who will be part of a multidisciplinary team focused on establishing In Silico experimentation capabilities and Artificial Intelligence technologies for product innovation. The Data Scientist will use expertise in statistics and programming to develop simulation models that will aid in faster process and product design.
As a Senior Data Scientist Product and process modelling, your responsibilities will include:
* Apply Data Science/Machine Learning approaches to establish relationships between material properties, manufacturing processes and product performance. Identify new product development or process improvement opportunities based on the insights.
* Connect food application performance requirements to molecular targets and optimal process conditions to accelerate product development of functional ingredients
* Utilize comprehensive product libraries to develop structural and functional maps that will aid in rapid selection of ingredients, raw materials, and/or food systems for targeted food applications
* Collaborate with appropriate internal functions and build process simulation models (Digital Twins) for selected manufacturing processes
* Ideate and analyze large amounts of complex raw and processed information to identify opportunities to advance Digital Transformation Strategy within the Innovation Group
* Develop and lead complex projects that involve advanced analytics and simulations
* Create client-ready materials and solutions for stakeholders of varying technical experience or familiarity with methods
* Maintain a continuous education of cutting-edge statistical techniques and programming languages

Qualified candidates will have:
* A degree in Statistics, Chemical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science or other technical discipline and 5+ years industrial experience. PhD or Masters degree is a plus.
* Experience with statistical programming languages (e.g. R, Python, SAS etc.) and proven ability to work pragmatically with statistical concepts and deliver end-to-end solutions
* Track record of applying AI approaches in process and product design
* Experience with Agile Scrum methodology
* Demonstrated ability to manage projects independently and lead multifunctional teams.
* Critical analytical thinking, problem-solving capabilities, and proven records of creative ideation
* Strong communication skills, both written and oral. Demonstrated ability to write comprehensive technical reports and deliver technical presentations
* Excellent planning and organizational skills
* Ability to interact constructively with colleagues from a wide variety of roles within the company
