Pay Rate: $18.39 - $19.52, + $0.60 shift differential for 2nd shift

Hours: This position will train on 2nd shift in Plant 1 from 4:00p.m. to 2:00a.m. until Plant 2 is ready. Once moved to Plant 2, this job will perform the Grindroom job for approximately 5 to 6 hours and then will be responsible for tear down and clean up in Grindroom and other Sanitation duties as assigned until the end of the shift. This will be a full-time Grindroom position once both shifts for Line 4 are operating in the new plant. Then hours will be 2pm Midnight.

All team members must abide by all of Burkes plant safety rules.

Qualifications:

* 18 years of age or older and 6 months of work history is required.

Requirements of team member include:

* Ability to learn and perform multiple positions (training will be provided)
* Work in temperatures 3250 degrees in Grindroom and 100+ degrees during sanitation part of job
* Being able to operate a stand-up fork-lift and pallet jack (in-house training provided)
* Ability to work in an environment that is moderately to highly strenuous
* Being able to lift up to 50 lbs frequently
* Ability to do a repetitive task
* Standing, walking, scrubbing, climbing ladders, lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving on hands and knees.
* Will handle high-pressure hoses for long periods of time; climb in and under equipment to clean
* Must be able to work with different types of chemicals
* Following good manufacturing practices (GMPs)
* Basic Math skills
* The individual must possess good communication skills, mechanical aptitude, and must be able to react quickly to changing conditions.
* Must be able to read and understand printed product specification documents and machine controls.
* The individual is required to contribute to harmony in the workplace.

Cooler Attendant Duties:

* Responsible for organizing and straightening up all aspects of the cooler and dock
* Operates a forklift to pick raw materials from the cooler and/or put away raw materials
* Responsible for accurate records and ensuring products selected reconcile with supporting paperwork
* Responsible for FIFO of raw material inventory
* Performs trailer checks and lockouts
* Responsibility for maintenance of material handling batteries and equipment
* Takes care of rendering, compact trash and cardboard and recycle plastic

Sanitation Primary Duties:

* Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing all production areas, including equipment, machinery, walls, floors and ceilings
* Cleans up excess meat on floor by using squeegee or shovel
* Hoses down equipment and machinery with hot water hoses
* Applies foam to all surfaces in production areas; scrubs equipment and machinery; rinses foam from equipment and machinery; applies sanitizer and oil/air mixture to all surfaces
* Reads and understands chemical warnings
* Vacuums office area; mops floor of laboratory and break room; cleans receiving dock; cleans restrooms and restocks bathroom supplies
* Disassembles equipment for cleaning purposes; reassembles equipment.
