As a Senior IT Mainframe Engineer, you will work with directly with the Mainframe team(s) to ensures the stability of the ZOS mainframe platform. Senior Engineer monitors the capacity management process. Responsible for the overall process and health of the Z13 Platform. You will participate on cross-functional teams to identify and implement efficiency, optimization, modernization and migration initiatives.
You will be proficient in z/OS, JES3, SMF AND RMF, TSO/ISPF, RACF, JCL & other system programming concepts and have experience with z/OS system programming and exposure to IBM z13 or above hardware working knowledge of CICS, DB2, IMS and knowledge of network communication protocols also a plus. Working knowledge of Broadcom CA7/CA1 AND CA11, Intellimagic , BMC Mainview, SAS, MXG, MQ, VTAM AND VSAM.
You will have expert knowledge of capacity management forecasting, trending and modeling practices and good working knowledge of SMF/RMF data and reporting tools.
You will be experienced in tuning and debugging performance problems for z/OS systems including application workloads, monitoring system performance and suggesting tuning requirements.
Should have working knowledge Z/OS application performance analysis and working knowledge of Workload Manager (WLM).
Responsibilities:
* Maximize the Stability of the mainframe
* Analyzes complex business, technical process, system and/or technical problems.
* Conducts research, generates comparisons, draws conclusions, makes recommendations and validates solutions to performance issues and efficiency improvements.
* Ensures actions are aligned to enterprise strategies; provides insight to assist in business or technical direction.
* Collaborates across multiple teams to drive analysis management processes.

* Support governance and compliance practices.
* Leads analysis of the current environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement.
* Performs complex quantitative and qualitative analyses for service delivery processes.
* Makes short term plans for the team to effectively utilize resources
* Facilitates timely resolution of service delivery problems and minimizes downtime
* Participates in modernization and migration initiatives
Qualifications:
* Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field (or equivalent work experience)
* 10 years minimum in IT Infrastructure mainframe work experience
* Experience with mainframe application modernization and migration initiatives
* Experience using cloud platforms for migrating software (AWS)
* Experience with RACF and Mainframe security
* A willingness to learn new technologies and process, understand the business practices related to the mainframe will be key to your success in this role
* Participate in discussions and presentations with Sr. management team members to explore options, pros, cons, risks, and trade-offs
* Ability to understand and engage in discussions about issues and abstractions and to communicate them.
* Ability to learn and take advantage of new software and hardware concepts and technologies
