Midstream Natural Gas Team

Job Summary

Responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting information systems that will enable the enterprise infrastructure of the organization. Analyzes system requirements and defines system architecture that will meet business needs, including server infrastructure, capacity planning, storage requirements, and networking protocols. Ensures that architecture project rollouts meet security standards and be effectively integrated with current applications. May supervise and guide the work of lower-level architects. May provide expert level support when needed. Works on the largest and most complex infrastructure architecture projects reporting to IT Director Infrastructure and Operations.

The IT Specialist Infrastructure has specific industry expertise and functions as an expert in one or more of the following areas: Server Infrastructure, Microsoft Suite, Network, Wireless, Cyber Security, Cloud and Client Applications. IT Specialist Infrastructure position researches, makes recommendations, and works in conjunction with other areas of IT to deliver and support state of the art solutions.
Key Accountabilities

Research, cost justifies, negotiates, makes recommendations, and consults on infrastructure opportunities
Establish and maintain business relationships with key Midstream personnel to assure a thorough understanding of business drivers within the overall business climate
Establish the appropriate business relationships with technology providers to assure a thorough understanding of their business drivers with the technically competitive marketplace
Consults on application projects and monitors to ensure the application is utilizing new technology appropriately and ensures the application will integrate into the infrastructure
Takes corrective actions to rectify issues and provides solutions
Keeps abreast of technology trends to select technology platforms that are appropriate and cost beneficial; and establish other business relationships with key technical dependent industries and organizations to support the application of technology to specific business areas
Consult on issues and contract negotiations related to one or more of the following areas: server engineering, database design and telecommunications infrastructure
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements

Fifteen years experience including ten years of highly technical IT Infrastructure experience
Other Qualifications

Preferred:
Certifications: Microsoft Certified System Administrator, Microsoft Certified System Engineer, CompTIA A+, and/or CompTIA Network+
Bachelor's degree in a related field MIS, CIS

Ability to influence and build relationships to foster a positive work environment and elicit support for acceptance of new technology within the organization.
Communication skills, including ability to design and conduct presentations, written communications skills and experience in dealing with all levels of the organization.
Influence and negotiation skills, analytical and decision-making abilities.
Requires advanced knowledge of principles, practices and procedures in a particular field of specialization to complex projects, e.g emerging technologies, industry standards, support services, network architectures, telecommunications, systems and database design, systems integration and emerging technologies.
