D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for a Closing Lead. The right candidate will assist the Closing Manager by providing a leadership resource to Closing Department team members providing knowledge, experience, motivation, support and advice. Responsible for knowing proper procedures are followed and complied with. Administer all aspects of contract and closing duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Organize, plan and lead weekly team meetings
Assist with weekly division status report meetings between construction department, sales department and/or mortgage
Review and approve Settlement Statements & Closing disclosures prior to closing
Schedule closing dates with divisions and notify in writing all parties involved
Prepare documents for closings, notarize deeds
Oversee the ordering, receiving and sending of documents for closings, i.e., builder Certification, lender docs, etc.
Oversee the review of all contracts for language clarity pertaining to seller-paid closing costs
Communicate and resolve various problems with sales personnel, loan and escrow parties
Ability to work overtime
Ability to travel overnight
Request, when necessary, the preparation and distribution of plans and specs for FHA closings from divisions
Review the list of all pending contracts and their projected month of closing
Track and report potential terminations, enter terminations upon request and prepare check requests if earnest money is to be refunded

Required Qualifications

Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral form or via DRH Warranty applications

Proficiency with MS Office and email

Ability to sit for majority of 8-hour workday; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance, color vision and peripheral vision

The noise level is generally moderate

Preferred Qualifications

One to four years related experience and/or training

Experience working in JDE
