Summary: Design and develop, by application of analytical and value engineering principles, products and/or product modifications. Support the technical development of engineering design.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

1. Design products and product modifications with sound engineering principles

2. Manage projects in a cross functional environment as a project manager.

3. Provide technical assistance to engineers and others for projects or product lines.

4. Obtain and support approvals as required with respect to legal obligations and certifying agencies.

5. Issue necessary technical instructions and engineering specifications.

6. Specify testing requirements and parameters as well as write final test summaries

Supervisory Responsibilities: No direct reports in this position. However the successful person will possess the ability to lead a team of diverse professionals toward desired outcomes.

Technical Skills Demonstrated mechanical and dynamic equipment design capability. Experience in the application of Thermal Dynamics, Fluid Mechanics and Material Selection is required. Interpersonal Skills - Focuses on solving conflict, not blaming; Maintains confidentiality; Listens to others without interrupting; Keeps emotions under control; Remains open to others' ideas and tries new things.

Regulatory and Compliance-Working knowledge of Harmonized Tarif Codes (HTS), Export Control Classification Number (ECCN) and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). A knowledge of EU and EAC regulatory requirements (ATEX, Machinery Directive, PED, etc.) is desired.

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree (BS Mechanical Engineering) from a four-year college or university coupled with a minimum of 5 years engineering design experience.

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills: PSG-GR uses PC based software, Microsoft Office Suite literacy is mandatory (particularly Word and XL). SolidWorks or other 3-D CAD platform experience is desirable, as is FEA and CFD experience. The ability to write computer simulations is a plus.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Desired but not required.

Other Qualifications: Reciprocating equipment, such as internal combustion engines or compressor, design experience is highly desirable. Rotating equipment experience is likewise applicable.
