Job Summary

The Category Management Consultant position includes the following responsibilities:
* Sets meaningful category savings targets, and delivers savings results, by implementing procurement strategies based on TCO analysis and innovation.
* Develops, builds, and presents strategic plans for assigned spend categories.
* Engages proactively with Business Unit customers on strategic sourcing goals, category strategies, initiatives, and savings targets.
* Leads formulation of sourcing strategies, and negotiations of key terms, for highly-complex sourcing events.
* Leads cross-functional, enterprise-wide, savings initiatives.
* Communicate initiative updates and savings targets across the organization.
* Analyzes relevant markets, and assess cost impacts of market events, for assigned spend categories.
* Maintains supplier lists for assigned spend categories, and builds partnerships with strategic suppliers.
* Maintains relationships with supplier senior executives.
* Travels up to 1 week a month, as needed, to meet with Business Unit customers and suppliers.

Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

7 years related experience in category management, supply chain or a directly related field. Some experience working with category management is required. A combination of experience with category management, spend analysis, market analysis, strategy formulation with business partners and project management is preferred.

Other knowledge, skills, abilities and experience include:
* Strong understanding of business cost drivers.
* Hands-on understanding of business processes and objectives.
* Developing knowledge of assigned categories. Excellent project management skills, with ability to resolve problems and to remove barriers to success.
* Strong analytic toolset that will support the creation of financial targets, detailed analysis of spend data, and structure of TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) models.
* Strong mentoring skills.
* Ability to navigate organization and influence decisions.
* Ability to develop and implement a structured, negotiation strategy.

The company is actively seeking United States military veterans and service members who meet the qualifications outlined above.

* Military service members and veterans with ranks from E5-E9, W1-CW5, or O3-O6, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience are encouraged to apply.
