Job Summary

A Nuclear Outage specialist is needed for the Subsequent License Renewal (SLR) efforts at North Anna Power Station. Responsibilities will include planning and coordinating outage and non-outage work activities for projects in the SLR portfolio, interfacing between the project teams and the station departments. SLR projects will implement major modifications, replacements, and upgrades to existing nuclear power plant structures, systems, and components.

This position will plan, coordinate, and oversee the implementation of SLR projects. They will work closely with the Project Managers to ensure the Design Changes are implemented with safety as the highest priority while focusing on the work scope, schedule, and budget criteria. Participate in the Outage Focus Team (OFT) meetings and the Outage Integration Team (OIT) meetings. This position may also be assigned to an Outage Control Center (OCC) Coordination position to provide project update information to senior management during outages. Oversee, coordinate and monitor field activities during construction and project implementation. Coordinate station and vendor support for SLR projects and design changes during both online and outage periods. Participate in planning activities to include walkdowns, work order development, schedule development, and implementation details. Identifies work that can be completed in advance of scheduled refueling outages (e.g., erection of scaffolds, temporary structures, temp power, etc.). Support the SLR logistics and site infrastructure plan. If assigned, coordinates material and equipment laydown plan for the yard and the containment building. Work with the Outage & Planning (O&P) department to identify critical and near critical path activities and make recommendations to limit impact to outages. Provide input into the development of detailed outage and project schedules, including dates, duration, work scope, manpower, and budget information. Develop schedules for SLR outage related activity to ensure the projects are properly resourced to meet the implementation goals. Support procedure development and tract status prior to outages to ensure implementation procedures are reviewed and approved prior to field activities. Initiated Outage Scope Change Requests (OSCR) before, and during the outages to ensure scope changes are properly scheduled and reviewed for risk. Review SLR work orders for any required Post Maintenance Testing (PMT) requirements. Identify and coordinate special plant conditions required to perform work orders during outages. Perform other duties as requested or assigned by the SLR Supervisor of Nuclear Construction.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Must meet one of the following qualifications:

* Bachelor degree and 8 years or more of technical nuclear experience, in maintenance, operations, engineering, site services (construction) or other related technical experience or;
* Associate degree and 10 years or more of technical nuclear experience, in maintenance, operations, engineering, site services (construction) or other related technical experience or;
* High school diploma/GED and 12 years or more of technical nuclear experience, in maintenance, operations, engineering, site services (construction) or other related technical experience.

Additional KSA's

* Nuclear Power Station experience supporting plant refueling outages or construction.
* Detail oriented, with strong organizational skills required.
* Strong oral and written communication skills.
* Personnel computer experience including DocTop, Microsoft Office Suite, Plant Asset Management System (PAMS), Maximo.
* Has ability to inspire trust and generate rapport with individuals from different departments to successfully implement projects.
* Ability to prioritize work and participate on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred: knowledge of company software and systems used for scheduling development, including Primavera-6 (P6) scheduling software and the Maximo work order planning software.

Military service members and veterans with ranks from E5-E9, W1-CW5, or O3-O6, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined above are encouraged to apply.

A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or greater will count as one year toward the year of experience.

A Master's Degree will count as one year toward the years of experience.
