Job Summary

* Issue switching instructions and clearances to crews using proper communication protocols.
* Dispatch line crews to perform line construction, operations or maintenance.
* Deliver switching orders to the field for transmission or substation elements.
* Develop procedures pertaining to transmission or power plant operations.
* Implement energy schedules and interchange contracts for energy sales or purchase agreements
* Administer OASIS Transmission Service Request.
* Approve and monitor scheduled interchange.
* Monitor/Control hydro elevations and river flows.
* Monitor system load and dispatch generation to maintain a balanced system.
* Monitor transmission equipment status and respond to alarms.
* Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

The company is actively seeking United States military veterans and service members who meet the qualifications outlined below.

Military service members and veterans with ranks from E3-E5, W1-W2, or O1-O3, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined (above/below).
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

System Operator

* 3+ years related electrical or mechanical experience and at least 18 months in a System Operator role
* Knowledge of NERC Regulations, mathematics, electric principles, electrical control systems
* Knowledge of Substation equipment and operations, power station operations and generation, Industrial safety and emergency procedures
* Demonstrated computer skills (Microsoft word, EMS, DMS, etc)
* Excellent verbal and communications skills, complex problem-solving, teamwork and collaboration skills

Associate System Operator

* 0-2+ years related electrical or mechanical experience
* Knowledge of NERC Regulations, mathematics, electric principles, electrical control systems
* Knowledge of Substation equipment and operations, power station operations and generation, Industrial safety and emergency procedures
* Demonstrated computer skills (Microsoft word, EMS, DMS, etc)
* Excellent verbal and communications skills, complex problem-solving, teamwork and collaboration skills

Education Requirements

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:

Licenses, Certifications, or Quals Description

NERC Transmission Operator

Required:

If not currently NERC certified, must obtain NERC certification within 6 months of start date
