**This position will be based at one of Deltas Western US Hub locations: LAX, SEA, or SLC**

The Manager Security Operations (Intl and Domestic West U.S) under the supervision of the Director - Security Operations, is responsible for Domestic and International security operations, including developing the vision, purpose, strategy, and coordination of operational security activities across Deltas operation to include special initiatives, public and secure area risk assessments and mitigation strategy development and implementation, , security business plan development, personnel and asset protection, executive protection, workplace violence, and investigations of theft, assault, vandalism, tampering, sabotage or loss.

Summary of responsibilities (not comprehensive of all tasks):

* Responsible for Corporate Security operational activities in the Western U.S. and APAC with managerial oversight of the assigned Regional Security Managers.
* Corporate Security leader in the Western US will develop and drive relationships with airport authorities, TSA, local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies in order to promote Delta policy objectives and lead proactive security risk mitigation.
* Corporate Security leader in the Western US will interface between security and other internal organizations to include marketing, network, legal, equal opportunity, human resources, government affairs, ACS, cargo, IFS, FOP and others.
* Participate in the planning and implementation of long term strategic departmental and divisional initiatives to mitigate risk to the Delta Operation.
* Manage projects and activities between Corporate Security and other divisions to ensure defined business process solution improvements are delivered on time, within scope and are consistent with the approved financial plans.
* Implement business solutions that are feasible and executable from an integrated security and customer experience perspective.
* Understand developing threats that affect Delta network, evaluate incoming intelligence, identify potential security risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
* Ensure Delta meets or exceeds all regulatory and security standards established by Delta, the TSA and other U.S. or Foreign governmental agencies.
* Review and prepare clear and comprehensive reports regarding significant operational security incidents to Delta Leadership.
* Plan, develop and oversee associated operating and capital budgets.
* Develop both strategic and tactical plans that creates a safety-conscious environment that results in employee safety and well-being.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

* BA or BS degree or equivalent relevant work experience; seven to ten years in aviation operations, law enforcement or security with emphasis on loss prevention, security compliance, threat assessment, risk mitigation development
* Well-founded understanding of the wide array of historical and current threats and associated risks to aviation, and common, as well as creative, measures to mitigate those threats and risks
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and individuals under pressure to provide reliable, high-quality results under stressful situations in a fast-paced security environment
* Obtain and maintain a security clearance as well as work with highly sensitive and confidential information and materials
* Leverage relationships with Delta leaders to influence business decisions to build a security-first mindset
* Strong interpersonal skills that enable communication and negotiation with all levels of personnel and management - both internal and external
* Willing and able to travel to all cities served by Delta; expected travel at least 50% and work off-hours and weekends as the airline is a 24/7/365 operation
* Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite of applications
* (If transferring internally) Must be performing satisfactorily in present position

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)

* MA or MS degree or minimum of 10 years in aviation security, risk management, law enforcement or managing a security operations center.
* Professional Certification or study within the areas of security management, investigations, risk management, homeland security or ER response management from an accredited school or organization.
* Seasoned analytical and deductive reasoning skills with the ability to act tactically and strategically, to include developing and modifying security programs to support business objectives, risks, and continuous improvement.
* Prior experience leading a high energy, diverse team through inclusion and collaboration.
* Knowledge of Delta security practices, TSA, CBP, and other government agencies security regulations.
* Experience managing risk assessments of critical infrastructure, call center, or hotel facilities and implementing strategies to reduce employee and enterprise risk.
* Working knowledge and experience with IATA's Security Management System (SeMS), its functions and organizational benefits.
