Position Summary

Constellation Brands is looking for an exceptional analyst to synthesize and leverage various datasets to drive growth across the company via sales, marketing, and overall corporate objectives with a primary focus on supporting our operations and marketing teams.

This is a unique opportunity to join a multidisciplinary team and work on high-impact projects utilizing data analytics and machine learning.

Were a lean, flat and experimental team combining computer science, mathematics, and substantive expertise to identify and inject high-value insights at their point of highest impact. The team works in quick iterations, using the techniques and algorithms best suited for solving challenging problems.

Responsibilities

* Lead a team of data scientists - helping devise projects, removing blockers, and engaging with independent contributors.
* Lead and manage the evolution of Constellations Atlas platform.
* Work with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions.
* Mentor team members to develop and enhance existing technical/statistical skills and understanding the business
* Create and execute against a project plan that includes:
* working with business stakeholders to identify what their pain points are;
* building models or other data-driven products that help address those processes, and
* maintain and deploy developed models and/or process changes;
* lead effective change management to ensure models are adopted by stakeholders; and
* monitor models and/or process changes to determine whether they are having the intended business impact.
* Apply strong understanding of data science techniques and libraries to business problems through statistically sound modelling processes
* Mines and analyzes complex data sets using advanced statistical methods for use in data driven decision making.
* Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy.
* Design algorithms for building new data and features to expand modeling capabilities.
* Assess models; provide proof and explanation for acceptance tests.
* Responsible for performing complex analyses, including optimization, text analytics, machine learning, social-science modeling, and statistical analysis, parametric and non-parametric statistical models and techniques
* Responsible for the design of algorithms that require different models/methods to be used together
* Complete assignments that are broad in nature, usually requiring originality and ingenuity, with appreciable latitude for un-reviewed action or decision.
* Advocate, evangelize and build data-driven products that help our customers achieve their goals.
* Become an expert on current and future datasets, helping to evolve data usage within the group and Constellation
* Provide expertise on technological and mathematical concepts for the broader applied analytics team and inspire the adoption of advanced analytics and data science across the organization.

Minimum Qualifications

* Masters Degree in Statistics, Computer Science or a related discipline.
* 5+ years of experience delivering data science outcomes, solving complex analytical problems using quantitative approaches through a blend of analytical, mathematical and technical skills.
* Demonstrate a growth mindset curious, competitive, optimistic, and team focused by constantly pushing the boundaries of Constellation capabilities in analytics.
* A natural inclination toward solving complex problems
* A drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques.
* Extensive experience with statistical programming languages, including R, Python, SQL, etc., to process data and gain insights from it
* Knowledge of a variety of machine learning techniques (clustering, decision tree learning, artificial neural networks, etc.) and their real-world advantages/drawbacks.
* Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and concepts (regression, properties of distributions, statistical tests, time series, etc.) and experience with their applications.
* Experience with major web services, including S3, Spark, Redshift, Git, etc.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating across teams.
* Ability to work independently and with team members from different backgrounds
* Knowledge of and experience working in CPG (beverage alcohol industry experience preferred)
* Experience managing teams and projects.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

* Physical Requirements: Requires the ability to stand, walk, climb stairs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. It also requires sitting, operating a computer keyboard, telephone and other equipment, reading, talking and hearing for extended periods of time.
* Travel Required: Must be flexible in work style and schedule: travel up to 10%.
