Collins Aerospace is looking for a ME/NC Programmer to plan sequences for numerical control machine tools that machine contour and net trim to various heights, sizes and shapes of aluminum honeycomb core and titanium/Inconel honeycomb structures. The ME selects correct machine tool applications to provide the most efficient method available to meet the production and Engineering requirements of parts to be machined. The ME provides direct support to machine shop and manufacturing cell operations.Assists in monitoring and verifying part quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. Participates in and drive continuous improvements aimed at cycle time and defect reduction.
Primary Responsibilities
* Use CATIA V5 software to import/create required geometry and generate tool paths to achieve accurate part dimensions/surfaces with efficient processing movements and cycle times.
* Plan machining operations, develop associated manufacturing set-up documents and work instructions to be used by machine operators.
* Directly interface and work with machine operators and design & manufacturing engineers to develop manufacturing plans and estimates, solve problems, improve manufacturability of products and ensure products are machined to comply with drawings and specifications.
* Create, modify and maintain NC programs for 5-Axis CNC mills/routers/machining centers used to remove material as well as tooling and fixtures necessary to support operations.
* Utilize Vericut V9 or later to create and maintain simulation routines to check cutter paths for various NC machines
