Ashland has an exciting opportunity for a Key Account Manager-Northeast US

to join our Ashland LLC, business at NJ, NY or PA This is a very visible, significant role within the Company and the PCHH function. This position will report to Commercial Director Americas.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

* The candidate, ideally based in NJ, NY or PA, will have responsibility for key personal care Key Accounts- Johnson & Johnson and L'Oreal.
* May also have responsibility over a few smaller accounts in the region as well. The territory will be in the range of $10 Million but could fluctuate based on final account assignment.
* This person will be the Global lead on J&J and will work in concert with the Global lead for L'Oreal who is based in France.

In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:

* 7-10 years selling experience required, focus on personal care highly desired
* BS in technical field, chemistry or biology preferred
* Strong emphasis on R&D project development at the customer level
* Must have the ability to acquire a thorough understanding of customer needs and requirements
* Strong account management and relationship building skills
* Collaborative and proactive partner to customers and colleagues
* Proven sales record and the ability to succeed in a technical and relationship driven business
* Show a great passion for selling and winning in a team environment
* Proven ability in problem-solving and strategic negotiation
* Must have personality traits that include integrity, tenacity, perseverance, empathy, and a can-do, positive attitude
* Highly self-motivated and be able to work independently (after proper training)
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills with aptitude in building relationships across all organizational levels
* Experience writing business plans and prepare progress reports for internal and external stakeholders
* Must be authorized to work in the US
* Ability to travel -some international - on occasion.

The following skill sets are preferred by the business unit:

* Previous experience calling on J&J and/or L'Oreal highly preferred
* MBA
