Job Summary





The Marketing Strategy and Technology team is the primary liaison between the sales organization and prospective clients. The team provides similar functions for current client teams for retention opportunities. Scope of responsibility includes designing and implementing credit card program strategies specific to products, capabilities, innovation, and customer experience, in alignment with internal and external stakeholders. The primary goal of the Marketing Technologist is to support the selling and discovery alignment process of Alliance Data's technology and capabilities to new and existing clients. The Marketing Technologist demonstrates working knowledge of Alliance Data technology, systems, and processes and acts as a liaison between Alliance Data subject matter experts and clients or prospects, including supporting the development of solution approach options with appropriate internal partners. Through the research and selling process, the Marketing Technologist supports managers in the alignment of brand due diligence, vetting of technology and capabilities, and scope alignment with identified business requirements, continuing as a support agent for the duration of implementation. The Marketing Technologist may be asked to complete other duties as assigned to meet function/business needs.

Essential Job Functions

Marketing Technology: Assists in the selling of Alliance Data's tools and capabilities to deliver the vision for long-term portfolio growth, acting as the technical representative of the organization for assigned prospective clients and current clients in consideration of partnership renewal. Researches and identifies prospect and brand partner needs and supports development of the strategy and program design for products, technology, and capabilities for customer acquisition and engagement to align with program goals and customer value proposition. Learns and practices the Alliance Data selling philosophy and methodologies.

Relationship Management: Works directly with immediate manager, Alliance Data Sales Executives, Marketing Strategists, Products & Capabilities, and Client Partnership teams to align technology implementation with program goals and customer value proposition. Leverages strong relationships to advocate for and implement new capabilities that offer the right solutions at the right time. Participates in and/or leads meetings between key prospect/client contacts and Alliance Data to discuss products and capabilities, proactively identify and resolve open issues, and provide progress updates.

Communication: Clearly articulates complex technical concepts to mid- and senior-level associates across departments (IT, Marketing, Finance, Operations, etc.) at Alliance Data, prospects, clients, and vendors. Shares and reviews implementation guides, technical specifications, process flows, capability and integration requirements, associated level-of-effort and timelines with brand partners and third-party vendors. Supports the identification and communication to the organization of new prospect capability needs and gaps based on market and competitive landscape. Creates, updates, and communicates client due diligence and scope documentation and facilitates internal transition meeting with implementation teams, while continuing as subject matter expert for new business requirements during implementation phase.

Presentations: Crafts and customizes content and documentation for program requirements while driving to a desired end result. Modifies existing product demos and capabilities presentations for prospect and client meetings. Develops and leverages a repository of off the shelf materials that can be used to facilitate existing client education to support an appropriate level of understanding as it relates to Alliance Datas tools and capabilities.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree or equivalent education in Business Administration, Information Technology, or related field

Five or more years experience with Technology sales, sales engineer, solutions architect, technical project management, technology consulting

Preferred Experience:

Masters Degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Marketing, Finance, or related field

Eight or more years experience with technology sales, sales engineer, solutions architect, technical project management, technology consulting, marketing, financial services, retail, credit card operation services; managerial experience in a multi-level organization; experience building business solutions for retail, brand, consumer, or credit cards

Education:

Bachelors Degree (Required), Masters Degree
