Job Description

Leaders in this Telecom job family not only direct a team but are responsible for crafting, documenting, analyzing, installing, administering, maintaining, and troubleshooting telecom systems. You design and lead in capacity planning, creation and maintenance of Telecom disaster recovery plans, and manage all Telecom performance activities. Individuals are responsible for the evaluation, implementation, documentation and maintenance of Telecom services software/hardware and the analysis of telecom performance and proactive maintenance. You are responsible for the configuration and maintenance of physical and logical telecom components. You lead and communicate activities for Telecom issues that come through the Global Telecom Service Center.

You provide post-mortem details and ensure all actions are completed across infrastructure and documented. Individuals act as project leads and ensure technical specifications, timelines and budgets are met from a Telecom perspective. You demonstrate a high level of knowledge surrounding general Telecom, display troubleshooting expertise across various platforms or towers in IT and the ability to teach/train others. Individuals are experts in the use of various Telecom diagnostic tools and software aids for the investigation of Telecom problems. Individuals have strong communication and documentation skill. Individuals mentor others and work across GT and IT providing consultation as required. This level is self-managed and has the ability to communicate to executive levels and present technology in a way all levels can understand and benefit.

Additional Job Description

* Documenting, crafting, staging/testing, configuring, planning, implementing, troubleshooting and supporting Telecom installations.
* DOCUMENT - Building/Maintaining/Updating GM Telecom documentation and processes.
* SUPPORT - Leading technical support for operational issues and/or problems. Troubleshooting, diagnosing and resolving network problems across platforms and towers.
* STAGE AND TEST - Leading and coordinating testing and validating new hardware, software, and procedures for existing technologies, as well as, any newly developed technologies.
* IMPLEMENT/CONFIGURE - Demonstrating advanced knowledge in areas of specialization that include LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, Voice, UC, Contact Center, Network Security, and Applied Networking, with advanced knowledge of at least one area. Making recommendations for improvements. Validating technical specifications for planned activities.
* DESIGN - Crafting Telecom production environments. Building simulated test labs to validate design or resolve highly complex problems and compatibility issues.
* MONITORING - Building, tracking and responding to alerts. Monitoring facilities bandwidth requirements and system interdependencies. Proactively providing maintenance.
* PLANNING - Planning, executing, communicating, ensuring budget and timelines are met. Upgrade and Migration activity. Leading capacity planning activities. Communicating and presenting technology plans and status to executive level.
* MENTORING - Teaching and training team members and new hires in support processes, tools, technologies.
* COMMUNICATION - Effectively collaborates and communicates with peers and cross functional teams through appropriate media (written and verbal). Facilitating group discussions. Crafting presentations and presenting at organization level. Interacting with leadership on critical issues and escalations.
* Manages the culture within their team, holds themselves and others accountable for demonstrating GMs values and cultural behaviors. Models GM behaviors and builds a winning culture. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualification:

* Experienced knowledge of ITIL methodology.
* Experienced knowledge within the Telecom service you support.
* Experienced understanding of our monitoring, reporting, and communication standards.
* 5 + years of experience in Telecom and leading the team
* Bachelors degree in IT related field
