Team Description

The Product and Cloud Services (PCS) Finance Central FP&A; teams overall mission is to provide trusted and insightful financial information to enable the executive leadership teams to make effective decisions in maximizing VMwares performance. This team also has a strong focus to enhance the quality, efficiency, and scale of financial information produced, through process improvements, financial tools, and automation.

As a Financial Analyst, our leaders rely on your work to make strategic business decisions, whether it is forecasting business growth or tracking performance metrics. As a master juggler working on multiple projects at a time, you will focus on the details while finding creative ways to tackle big picture challenges.

We are looking for someone with the analytical rigor and strategic thinking to drive our business forward. This exciting role provides finance bookings and expense support to all the finance business partners as well as offering scope for leadership of individual data & analytical projects. You will work in close partnership with highly talented finance colleagues from across the PCS Finance organization and consult on Bookings and Expense planning, forecasting, reporting and analytic support.

Job Roles and Responsibilities

Core duties and responsibilities include the following:

* Engage closely with the PCS Finance Central FP&A; team and support on major month/quarter close activities.
* Engage closely on periodic Forecast, Annual/Bi-annual/Quarterly Planning, and Long Range Planning processes.
* Support bi-weekly bookings and revenue forecast cycles and provide bookings flash reports at quarter end.
* Collaborate and support Quarterly Busines Review requirements.
* Support Financial 4 Scorecards.
* Collaborate with and assist internal partners to enhance the functions contribution to the company. Share best practices, identify gaps, lead change and help determine priorities.
* Participate in PCS Finance wide initiatives to drive process improvement to scale for growth and create positive impacts across the PCS organization and VMware Finance.
* Develop strong operational knowledge on the critical systems like Hyperion, Essbase & SAP, PowerBI.
* Be a key contributor in cross functional PCS Finance initiatives to drive process improvements for the R&D; organization.

Requirements

* Bachelors degree in Business Administration/Finance/Economics or relevant field of study.
* 1 to 4 years of
* Experience in dealing with large datasets from databases.
* Expert proficiency in Excel, solid experience with Powerpoint.
* Preferred: Experience in SAP HANA, Hyperion and Power BI.
