You will work on a cutting edge SaaS and on premise products that are used 24/7 by development and site-reliability teams at leading enterprises such as Lyft, Doordash, Reddit, Snowflake, Intuit, Box, Workday, and many more.

What is the primary need, technical challenge, and/or problem you will be responsible for?

Our team is expanding. We need a strong leader of the team who can define, drive and enforce quality of Tanzu Observability products as well as be a thoughtful and passionate leader driving the team to success. You will lead a team of engineers to ensure that our customers are getting new versions of our products with high quality. This includes responsibilities to organize End to End testing, performance and scale testing for existing and emerging product components.

Success in the Role: What are the performance goals over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?

Success in this role in the first 6-12 months would include

* Improvements in the quality processes for Tanzu observability releases

* Lowered rate of the issues escaped to production

* Improved engineering efficiency through the automation of the processes that are taking manual effort

* Expertise of the products the team is working on

What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?

* You will work with product and development teams to understand the new features going into Tanzu observability products and plan End to End, scale and Performance testing for it.

* You will identify the best talent and work with the team of engineers to ensure that new releases of Tanzu observability are delivered with quality

* You will empower the team to be innovative and efficient and support it so that it performs at the highest possible level

* You will learn Tanzu observability products that are using cutting edge technologies

* You will lead the development of automation for testing the products, build tools to benchmark the performance of the key platform components and support our scale testing infrastructure with automation for K8s, AWS, GCE, or Azure

What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team like?

The hiring manager for this role is Elena Gorvitovskaia, Senior Manager of the Engineering Services team(ES). Elena is a VMwares veteran who worked on a variety of VMware products. For the past 3 years she enjoys working in the Wavefront team as it provides her cozy feeling of a startup while having the values and benefits of a large company. ES team consists of engineers with diverse cultural backgrounds and different technical expertise. We try to play on our strengths while finding the opportunities to develop knowledge in the new technical areas. Wavefront keeps us in the learning mode: we like to learn from each other and give each other a hand when the help is needed. We are passionate about delivering products with high quality and strive for work life balance. While we see each other mostly on slack and zoom during COVID time, we miss our serene Palo Alto campus with lush landscape, gym, and cafes.

For positions located in Colorado: The base salary range is $95,000 - 218,000. Bonus, commission, and/or equity may be eligible for this position.
