Position Summary
The Quality Coordinator is expected to maintain the efficient operating status of quality department functions while maintaining quality, waste reduction, minimizing downtime, working safely, and communicating effectively with others. The Quality Coordinator also plays a pivotal role in training Quality Inspectors and managing department assignments. This position performs a variety of duties in the quality department to insure that the quality standards are being met through a thorough analysis of the process data and implementation of all required systems.
Essential Functions Quality Coordinator
* Ability to learn and understand all duties performed by the Quality Inspectors
* Ability to learn and have a strong working knowledge of the SPC program including maintaining data, providing data interpretation and troubleshooting problems.
* Responsible for monitoring process data, validating check frequency per the corporate requirements and reporting concerns to supervision.
* Assist in department planning and task scheduling to ensure consistent and efficient workflow. Communicate and enforce standards and policies under the guidance of the Quality Manager.
* Advise management and coach fellow co-workers on matters regarding quality issues.
* Assist Quality Manager in creation and revisions for SOP's and Pre-requisite programs.
* Assist Quality Manager with the implementation and maintenance of Food Safety and 3rd Party Certification including AIB and SQF.
* Assist in providing training of Quality processes and provide reinforcement of these procedures.
* Assist with gauge studies and maintaining records of gauge certification.
* Monitor non-conforming product and assist in disposition process including assigning retesting and reworking procedures. Assist Quality Manager to ensure follow up on all quality and operational issues to resolution.
* Develop and maintain a document control system that pertains to standardization, revisions and location of documents.
* Assist in complaint resolution including data review and sample analysis.
* Keeps area safe, clean and organized.
* Perform additional duties as required.

Skills and Qualifications
* Associate Degree or equivalent with 3+ years of quality experience.
* Quality related training such as SQF, BRC or GFSI Standards ad HACCP certification is preferred.
* High level attention to detail, preferably with experience in document control and/or quality assurance.
* Proven ability to effectively manage multiple projects/tasks at the same time.
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage and motivate team members.
* Be a self-starter, team oriented and effectively demonstrate leadership characteristics.
* Must have the ability to make decisions, follow directions and work independently with minimal supervision.
* Above average written verbal communication skills.
* Basic computer skills using the Microsoft Office Package.
