Must be able to work 12 hour day shift schedule of 7am - 7pm every Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and every other Wednesday.
Responsible to set up and operate the printing press, maintain color, and direct press crew to successfully achieve established safety, quality and productivity standards. Demonstrate support for company core values of safety, respect, quality, and production. Responsibility includes training press crew. Act as a role model for safety and encourage fellow employees to work in a safe manner.
Essential Job Functions: This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.
* Monitor production work methods to manage the overall product to meet or exceed all quality and food safety specifications.
* Act as a role model for safety and give guidance to press crews to work in a safe manner.
* Act as a mentor to upskill and train new and developing employees.
* Understand the planned performance levels for the shift.
* Manage the press crew to meet or exceed standards of scrap, rejects, press speeds and overall operation of the press equipment.
* Manage the information on the Process Monitor Board; analyze Process Monitor Board for root causes, trends and action items/work orders. Identify improvement opportunities.
* Monitor the quality of the product being produced to ensure that it meets all job quality standards. Assure quality standards for color, registration, patches, and print and moisture levels are being maintained. Review and approve samples from each production roll and approve finished pallet for roll formation and shipment. Provide root cause analysis and plan to resolve external customer rejects/incidents.
* Communicate with press operators/supervisor/other shifts and departments regarding job quality, problems or shift change issues.
* Maintain press and all related equipment in a clean and orderly condition as required meeting SQF and MSS standards.
* Maximize production efficiency through effective planning and utilization of time when press is running. Press parts should be prepared in advance of press downtime and before the end of the shift.
* Develop and maintain press crew capability through training, coaching and performance feedback. Provide performance review input for team.
* Perform other duties as assigned
* Responsible for food safety and quality and SOX requirements as applicable.
* Must be willing and able to work in a culture built around continuous improvement and change.
* Regular, reliable attendance is necessary
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
* Lifting up to 65 pounds, standing climbing, reaching and walking.
* Unrestricted color perception
* Ability to read/write English and communicate effectively with press team
* Ability to perform arithmetic functions and trend analysis
* Ability to use critical thinking to plan and problem-solve
* Ability to react positively to change.
* Flexibility when dealing with work or people issues.
* Must be a team player and support management decisions
* Intermediate computer skills including SAP, Excel and Microsoft Word, preferred
* Demonstrate positive leadership
* High school diploma or GED required
