Clinical position working in a physician office. Will be required to float to other PHA locations to work as needed.

1. Conducts pre-visit planning by reviewing and updating patients charts prior to appointment with recent test results and correspondence and determines needed services per practice protocol.
2. Prepares patients for examination and treatment by escorting them from the waiting area to the exam room.
3. Obtains and documents patient medical history, chief complain, vital signs, medications, allergies.
4. Provides direct nursing care, dispenses appropriate meds and injections as directed by physician.
5. Assists physician in minor surgical procedures and ancillary diagnostic procedures.
6. Collects and prepares laboratory specimens and completes appropriate paperwork.
7. Executes standing orders for medication refills, tests and routine preventative services.
8. Reviews incoming laboratory, radiology and consultation reports and place in appropriate patient medical records and given to the physician.
9. Participates and documents ongoing patient telephone calls, responds to patient questions, as directed by physician, triages patients condition, communicates pharmaceutical orders to pharmacies.
10. Provides patient/family education about managing conditions as directed by physician.
11. Takes inventory of medical/surgical supplies, Pharmaceutical and controlled substances.
12. Cleans, sterilizes (when needed) and prepares instruments.
13. Cleans and sets up examination and treatment rooms between patients. Ensures availability of appropriate instruments and equipment. Preps patient.
14. Completes patient forms and/or authorizations for medications, testing, etc.
15. Must be available for flexible schedule.
