Waste Management has an exciting opportunity for a Wastewater Treatment Plant Manager to work at the Monmouth County Reclamation Center plant in Tinton Falls, NJ.

The typical shift will be 7am to 4:30pm and on call every other week 24/7.

I. Job Summary
Supervises employees and operations of wastewater treatment plant.

II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.

* Manages personnel and daily operations of plant to maintain optimum disposal flow. Organizes and schedules all necessary resources required to accomplish activities.
* Reviews and evaluates work to ensure quality, timeliness and ensures quality control in adherence to policies and procedures.
* Fulfills purchasing function, including purchasing supplies, maintaining purchase order log, and reviewing P-card transactions, for the treatment plant.
* Assembles and analyzes data. Tests and monitors results and creates appropriate reports.
* Serves as a liaison between plant and vendors, contractors, management, security, and others.
* Executes necessary precautions to ensure safety and compliance with Company, OSHA, and other standards and regulations.
* Oversees personnel needs of the department including coaching, training, and evaluating employee performance. Provides input into termination, compensation, and promotion decisions.
* Implement Efficiency & cost reduction initiatives (i.e. BMP)
* O& M Data /documentation recordkeeping
* Manage offsite liquids disposal
* Compliance sampling ( DEP, MPDES)

III. Supervisory Responsibilities
The highest level of supervisory skills required in this job is the management of non-supervisory employees. This includes:

* Direct supervision of 3 full-time employees including: technicians and operators.

IV. Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.

A. Education and Experience

* Required: High school diploma or G.E.D., and four to six years previous experience.
* Preferred: Associate's Degree, or equivalent experience, and four to six years previous experience.

B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements

* Preferred: State Wastewater Operator Certificate (Class N-3 or higher).

C. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required

* Previous plant supervisor experience may be required.
* Previous experience with plant maintenance: pump stations, boilers, chillers, compressors generators etc.
* Strong skills in mechanical and plumbing
* Ability to be on call every other week 24/7

* Normal setting for this job is a treatment plant.
