The Senior Intake Coordinator is an organized, detail - oriented, professional responsible for presenting Briova Infusion Services in a welcoming manner on incoming home IV patient referrals (by phone and fax), accurately gathering detailed, specific medical data to promptly process insurance and IV drug orders, simultaneously managing/prioritizing many aspects of the (pre - pharmacy) referral, while working collaboratively with both external teams (hospitals, clinical and non - clinical case managers) and internal teams (sales, pharmacy, nursing, warehouse, delivery) for patient - specific solutions, comfortable with calling for patient data from medical entities, and working daily within a sophisticated computer platform. This is a full - time, vital, in - office role. Knowledge of the medical and hospital / clinic environments helpful.

This position is full-time (40 hours/week) Monday - Friday. Employees are required to work our normal business hours of 8:00am - 5:00:pm. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime or weekends.

Primary Responsibilities:

* Gathers patient information accurately and completely by utilizing appropriate templates in CPR+.
* Verifies insurance eligibility prior to processing order.
* Assembles patient's electronic medical record accurately and completely and manages documents appropriately in CPR+.
* Process orders in a timely manner.
* Obtains necessary information according to accreditation guidelines.
* Obtains authorization for services.
* Informs Clinical and Sales Teams of referrals and updates them on the status of the case.
* May act as a resource for others.
* Prepares pending files by utilizing appropriate templates in CPR+

Required Qualifications:

* High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
* 1+ years of recent experience / extensive knowledge in relevant medical field / home care
* 1+ years of experience working in Microsoft office suite, specifically Microsoft Excel (creating, saving, formatting spreadsheets), Microsoft Outlook (creating and send messages, scheduling meeting, adding attachments, deleting emails, filing emails), Microsoft PowerPoint (creating, saving, formatting documents) and Microsoft Word (creating, saving, formatting documents)
* Understanding of insurance verification process, benefits assessment and discussing results with patients and case managers.
* Employees are required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or a similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener prior to entering the work site each day, in order to keep our work sites safe. Employees must comply with any state and local masking orders. In addition, when in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are expected to wear a mask in areas where physical distancing cannot be attained.

Preferred Requirements:

* Knowledge of the CPR+ system
* 1+ years medical terminology experience

Soft Skills:

* Ability to handle heavy phone contact and maintain positive customer service interactions in a fast - paced environment
