Responsibilities

Stuart S. Jorgensen & Associates, insurance staff counsel for State Farm Insurance Companies, seeks a trial and litigation attorney with two to five years of civil defense litigation experience to join our Westminster, CO office. Candidates should be versed in Colorado's civil discovery rules, trial procedures, and insurance defense law, and must be able to handle motions hearings and trials before juries and the bench. Competitive candidates will also have superior oral advocacy and writing skills, a strong teamwork orientation, and excellent work ethic. Competitive candidates will be well-organized, detail-oriented, and able to independently manage a caseload where all work is time-sensitive.

Located in Westminster, CO, we enjoy an active, busy civil trial practice. We provide a congenial, team-oriented professional work environment with skilled support staff.

Qualifications

* Law degree from an A.B.A. accredited law school and excellent academic credentials
* Active license to practice law in Colorado and a member in good standing of the Colorado Bar
* 2-5 years of civil litigation experience/jury trial experience, preferably in insurance defense practice
* Jury trial experience is a plus, but not required
* Experience working in a paperless environment
* Strong software skills including competency in Word, Outlook, and Westlaw
* Knowledge of local and state discovery rules, trial procedures, and applicable substantive law commensurate with level of experience
