The development rep contributes to Starbucks success by providing construction and product support to Project Development Managers to ensure new stores and renovations are completed in accordance with Starbucks requirements. This position is a critical part of our team!
As a development rep, you will
Works with cross-functional team, including business development (real estate), store design, and project development managers, to understand project development scope, review drawings and schedules, and places orders to support stores.
Reviews and interprets construction documents to ensure correct quantities are ordered and scope for their immediate area of impact is appropriate and aligned to the budget.
Collects vendor quotes and processes purchase and warehouse orders. Places and tracks orders on a per store basis. Communicates and distributes project related information to vendors and internal partners.
Resolves problems with back orders, items not received, defective and damaged goods. Initiates and reports on damage and/or defective claims with warehouses and outside suppliers and vendors.
Coordinates and resolves shipping issues within internal and external transportation departments. Communicates supplier issues to buyers.
Works with internal and external project teams, including Licensees and their GC's and AOR's, to track project status and reports out during team calls
Supports furniture, finishes and equipment replacement requests, tracking equipment orders and distributing related information to vendors, internal partners, and licensees.
Provides project development managers with project support; assists in compiling store reconciliation documents, maintains, and reconciles asset registers for each project, tracks and updates project plans.
Assists with developing and managing budgets for small to medium scale projects consistent with timeline requirements for new store development and renovation projects, including bid negotiations.
Assists in the resolution of issues raised by internal and external partners during the construction and post construction period.
Assists in reviewing and processing invoices.
Assists with office administrative support functions, correspondence, telephone calls, filing and email. Serves as a resource for internal and external partners.
Creates and maintains project files. Updates and maintains store related information in various systems.
Occupies project lead on special projects associated with rep responsibilities
Provide assistance in training new hire project managers on rep responsibilities and project administration.
We'd love to hear from people with:
Knowledge of development process life cycle
Construction in restaurant or retail environment
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
Fundamental commercial acumen relating to scope, related project costs and programs
Negotiation skills and ability to influence without authority
Preferred: Bachelor's degree in facility or construction management, architecture, or business-related field
3+ years project administration, including tracking
5 years order management: progressive experience in managing orders through complete order life cycle.
3 years' experience in the construction or facilities industry
3+ years' experience using Microsoft365, Smartsheet, and project or construction management - apps.
3+ years vendor/supplier management
