Who You Are
Youre a curious problem solver who can bring big ideas to life. Youre agile and adaptable but work with precision. You also have:

* Bachelors degree in Engineering Field (Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering preferred)
* 5 - 7 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role or related field
* In depth exposure to the principles of Lean Manufacturing
* Experience in managing and leading large projects within a manufacturing facility
* Proven track record in the Coaching & Development of subordinates.
* Thorough understanding and practical application of lean principles including 7 Waste, 5S, TAKT time, Standard Work and Flow.
* Working knowledge of Fabrication & Weld/Fit processes and associated equipment.
* Working knowledge of paint processes and associated equipment.
* Advanced knowledge of best in class assembly operations, part presentation and material flow.
* Advanced knowledge of manufacturing engineering processes
* Advanced and/or certified project management skills
* Ability to own and manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks in order to meet deadlines
* Must have strong written and oral communication skills
* Formal training in Problem analysis and problem resolution
* Strong computer skills with proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office and working knowledge of 3D modeling software, such as Auto-Cad
* Strong coaching and mentoring skills

What Youll Do
As a Manufacturing Engineering Manager youll manage, coach and lead the activities of the Manufacturing Engineering personnel. This role supports all Akron plant manufacturing value streams relative to the continuous improvement of all safety, quality, delivery, and cost metrics. This role is also responsible to manage all prelaunch planning and process development activities required for new products targeting the Cheraw facility.
Specifically, youll:

* Be responsible for the development and deployment of manufacturing processes designed to achieve the highest level of safety throughout the manufacturing plant.
* Through the use of predictive tools such as Risk Assessments, PFMEA, etc. develop & document standardized Manufacturing Processes that are stable, predictable while achieving the highest level of Safety & Quality performance.
* Coach & Mentor the Engineering team in the pursuit of continuous improvement across all Plant Value Streams.
* Coach & Mentor the Engineering team to drive the execution of productivity projects having a positive impact on the sites financial performance.
* Support and engage in the day to day manufacturing process support of production teams (methods, tooling, equipment, problem solving).
* Works closely with manufacturing supervisors & managers as well as other support groups and technical leaders to resolve issues that arise as related to safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
* Responsible for the planning, development and successful implementation of capital equipment/tooling improvement plans including new product launch activities.
* Facilitation of formal continuous improvement kaizen activities when required in the endless pursuit of waste elimination throughout the Akron facility.
* Drives new product development for the site including APQP deliverables, tooling and equipment concepts, quotations, process development, qualification and approval processes
