Job Summary

Responsible for providing first-line supervision/ direction of Chemistry Techs and for all aspects of Hope Creek Chemistry/Water treatment.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities include:

* Provide direct supervision and field oversight of Chemistry activities and assigning, supervising and coordinate the work of represented personnel in Chemistry.
* Develop, implement work schedules, make technical assignments and administer the collective bargaining agreement.
* Ensure work activities meet and exceed the requirements and standards established in 10CFR20, related Regulatory Guides, and INPO Good Practices Guidelines.
* Provide administrative oversight for key elements of the Chemistry program.
* Manage the industrial relations of the group, including performance management.

Job Specific Qualifications

REQUIRED:

BS Physical Science or equivalent education/experience in the field of Chemistry is required, additionally, requires 4 years Chemistry related field experience. Good oral and written communication skills. Must meet and maintain Nuclears Requirements for Unescorted Site Access.

DESIRED:

Previous supervisory experience. Experience in directing/supervising bargaining unit personnel. Working knowledge of computers and computer systems.

Must obtain an acceptable score on the First Line Supervisor's Test (FLST) unless presently and directly supervising PSEG (i.e. responsible for performance review) blue collar, operating department/represented associates for a minimum of 12 continuous months. For those who have previously taken and received an acceptable score on the FLST but who are not presently and directly supervising represented associates, test results will be valid for a maximum period of two years from the date the test was taken. Acceptable test results exceeding the two year period (for those applicants not presently and directly supervising represented associates) cannot be used in bidding on or applying for a first line supervisory position for which the test was validated.

The Public Service Corporation was formed in 1903, by amalgamating more than 400 gas, electric and transportation companies in New Jersey. Thomas McCarter was named the Corporation's first president and held the position until 1939.

Internally, Public Service consolidated its gas and electric interests into Public Service Electric and Gas, and its transportation interests into Public Service Coordinated Transport (later Transport of New Jersey). Concerns about the concentration of economic power resulted in federal and state actions requiring the breakup of utilities. PSEG as 100 People
