Job Description

As a member of Employee Insights team, the Senior Data Scientist will serve as the data engineer and architect primarily responsible for the evolutionary design and mechanics of an enterprise-wide, workforce analytics data infrastructure used by the team. A core objective of this role is to improve research enablement and readiness by ensuring the data framework continues to evolve in a manner that is organized, efficient, and dynamically scalable to support analytical projects of varying size and scope; which ultimately helps the broader teams goal of delivering advanced statistical studies and insights about Prudentials people, policies, programs and practices.

The Senior Data Scientist will report directly into the Director, People Analytics.

Key responsibilities:

* Write SAS code to design, build, optimize, and operationalize the automation of big data procedures and digital solutions. Additionally, takes ownership of maintaining existing scripts running in production.
* Liaison with team members to support the planning, creation, and integration of new data pipelines while ensuring the maintenance and optimization of existing data pipelines.
* Work closely with cross-functional domain leads and HR business process owners to translate business requirements into digital data solutions.
* Foster positive internal partnerships with Technology to support data quality controls, proper security, and access controls to internal and external data bases, where appropriate.
* Become technically proficient in working with HR systems (e.g. Workday-HCM, Workday-ATS, Denodo) while obtaining an increased understanding of how HR practices and the execution of HR processes impacts the quality of data and reporting possibilities.
* Edit and originate technical documentation about architectural configurations, data archives, data dictionaries, testing, issue identification and resolution.
* Support the creation and build of advance reporting, dashboards, and other data visualization (e.g. Workday, Tableau, PowerBI, Vizier)
* Be strong advocate of a process culture and data quality/integrity

This role requires a skill set that combines project management, big data management, data analysis, and HR subject matter expertise.

* Expertise using analytics and statistical software namely SAS and SQL to perform analysis and interpret data. Familiarity with Python and/or R is a bonus.
* Experience conducting analytics or data science projects; technical writing; creating scalable and secure analytical data base solutions and automated processes or programs
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Experience working in a start-up or agile culture with professional attitude and service orientation; excellent team player

Basic Qualifications

* Bachelors degree required
* 3+ consecutive years of coding/writing advance base SAS programs (e.g. SAS ODS, Proc Report, SAS/Graph) and writing SQL statements

Preferred Qualifications:

* Masters in Statistics, Data Sciences, Computer Science, Economics, Human Resources, I/O Psychology, and/or other business-related degree.
* SAS Certified
* 2+ years of direct experience in Workforce Analytics with experience working with large complex data extract from HRM and ATS
* Highly proficient using SAS Enterprise Guide framework.
* In-depth experience in performing t-tests, ANOVA, linear regression, and logistic regression
