As a Facilities Management Supervisor, reporting to the head of shared facilities services, you will develop and implement the strategy for providing expertise needed to ensure safe, efficient, outstanding operations of all four R&D sites in Pittsburgh. You will build a highly functional team of specialists in all areas identified by the Management team, develop significant metrics to measure the success of the team and lead the team through continuous improvement to ensure its effectiveness and efficiency. Working with the project management division, you will play a key role in the capital projects executed at all four sites.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide leadership and oversight to a large team of professionals and maintenance employees across multiple locations.
* Monitor the performance, maintenance and upgrade of key assets and equipment required in the safe and efficient operation of PPG facilities and develop pro-active, and cost effective plans for both routine maintenance and upgrades of all sites.
* Develop departmental/division operating and capital budgets, as well as cost variance reports.
* Proactively collaborate with and present information to safety and management personnel to ensure the facilities and maintenance objectives of the organization are being met.
* Run the 6S program and implement industry standard methodologies across all the sites.
* Drive energy savings programs, including but not limited to, Utility Act 129 rebates, Variable Frequency Drive Installations, LED Lighting Upgrades and HVAC upgrades.
* Lead vendor relations including the job bid process, to ensure work is completed, while maintaining positive working relationships.
* Provide high level estimates and project plans for group consolidations, more efficient use of space, building additions and new construction.
* Ensure that all transactions are coordinated in a timely manner, such as creation of purchase orders, change orders, Notice of Intents, vendor/subcontractor communications, invoicing.
* Qualify all contracts with the bid submitted for accurate cost amount and scope of work.
* Prepare detailed project schedules and communicate to all partners.
* Read drawings and answer service provider questions.
* Develop, implement and coordinate SOPs required for the effective operation of the department/division.
Qualifications
* Associates degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience.
* 10+ years working in facilities and property management.
* 5+ years of building and leading engaged work teams, preferably across multiple sites.
* Project management experience.
* Understands the concepts of LEAN.
* Excellent written and verbal communication, as well as strong interpersonal skills.
* Ability to lead in a crisis situation, while demonstrating strong problem-solving and decision making skills.
* Strong professional acuity with the ability to work with and influence all levels of an organization are required.
