Director, Global Total Rewards (COE)

In this global leadership role, the Director, Global Total Rewards is responsible for building the total rewards strategy for PPG that will drive top quartile growth and performance. You will be responsible for the competitiveness and cost-effectiveness of PPG's total rewards strategy to ensure it will attract, retain our employees. This is an opportunity to introduce innovative approaches and concepts post-traditional thinking in the total rewards function.

Reporting to the VP, Chief Human Resources Officer, your expertise will provide direction to the strategy, design, planning, implementation, communication, and administration of the company's total rewards programs and processes, which include base pay, incentive pay, health & welfare programs.

More specifically, in the first 12-18 months, you will:

* Provide thought leadership, develop, and own PPG's comprehensive strategy using compelling and equitable compensation and benefits programs that will ensure the Company meets its goals of attracting, developing, and retaining the best talent while maintaining fiscal discipline.
* Partner with the Chief Human Resources Officer, executive leadership, and communications team to develop, execute and communicate key total rewards programs.
* Prepare qualitative and quantitative analytics to support development and design of cost-effective total reward programs, including program/process/policy changes.
* Develop and implement a world-class total rewards platform, which reduces the complexity in processes, programs, and policies, while ensuring that technology supports the processes with a simple, user friendly experience;
* Assess, build and maintain a high-performing and cohesive team of internal experts that utilize a consultative model.
* Lead the review of executive compensation programs to ensure PPG remains competitive in our ability to attract and retain our leaders.
* Build operational discipline to the governance of total rewards globally, especially relative to important analytics vital for organizational decision-making and maximum operating efficiency. You will gain consistent alignment with internal to ensure consistent application of Total Rewards policy.

You will have:

* A minimum of 15 years of progressively responsible global total rewards experience including a minimum of ten years of experience leading compensation and benefits teams.
* Bachelors degree in business, science, math; Advanced degree or total reward certification like CEBS, preferred.
* Strong business and financial acumen. Must understand drivers of shareholder value and relevant business models.
* Extensive practical knowledge of a wide variety of compensation techniques, theories and programs, including cash compensation, merit programs, incentive/variable compensation, equity programs, executive compensation, etc. Detailed understanding of current legal, regulatory, and governmental labor environment. Continual benchmarking of competitive and best-in-class HR organizations to find opportunities for improvement.
* Expertise in developing, implementing, and evaluating processes, and leading large-scale change initiatives successfully.
* Ability to analyze, interpret and utilize data to make sound business decisions.
* Outstanding strategic thinking capability who can translate strategy into action oriented milestones and execute.
* Superb communication skills with the ability to communicate the details of total rewards programs to varying levels of employees, management, and Board of Directors.
* Extensive knowledge of Human Resources practices, functions, approaches.
