Description
The Environmental Field Coordinator manages waste coordination and inspections. This Field Coordinator will assist with coordinating waste shipments, maintaining detailed logs of wastes shipped, and managing records associated with these shipments. The Field Coordinator will attend maintenance planning meetings and will participate in turnaround activities. The Field Coordinator will also provide support to the Environmental Department for MOC reviews and in-field auditing of other environmental compliance areas.
Responsibilities May Include
* Understand Federal and State Hazardous and Solid Waste Regulations.
* Work independently as a single-point of contact for field management of waste activities.
* Assist with inventory coordination of the delivery, staging, relocation, storage, disposal, cleaning, and return of all waste containers.
* Maintain log of wastes generated, location in facility and timing of disposal.
* Use tracking system to manage inventory of equipment on-rent, spend, and waste in storage areas.
* Assist in review of invoices from waste disposal and hauling contractors to ensure proper billing and accuracy.
* Attend weekly maintenance scheduling meetings to ensure proper management of waste.
* Participate in planning meetings and coordinate the disposal of all waste generated during planned turnarounds.
* Complete weekly environmental inspections, complete required inspection documentation and coordinate corrections to any findings during inspections.
* Reduce wash-outs and trucking by doing internal transfers.
* Perform continuous evaluations of performance to identify improvements and cost saving opportunities.
* Assist in waste profile generation from waste disposal facilities.
* Collect/coordinate sampling of wastes prior to disposal.
* Order and maintain the supply of Waste and DOT labels and manifests for the waste programs success.
* Complete and maintain shipping records including waste manifests, bill of ladings, etc.
* Complete and maintain Asbestos Abatement records, including completed ADVFs, Internal manifests, and landfill burial drawing updates.
* Assist with minor spill response activities. Including directing in-house spill response resources and waste needs for clean-up.
Position Requirements
Basic/Required:
* Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
* Maintain valid drivers license
* High School Diploma/GED equivalent
* 3 or more years of environmental experience in refining, petrochemical or related industries
* Intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Office computer applications
* Willing and able to hold periodic 24-hour on-call plant response duty

Preferred:
* Bachelors Degree or higher in Environmental, Chemistry, or related field
* 10 or more years of environmental experience in refining, petrochemical or related industries
* Planning and budgetary skills
* Able to accurately and clearly communicate both technical and practical information while working in a team environment
* Well-developed planning and organization skills
* Excellent interpersonal communication skills
* Ability to work productively in a diverse team-based environment
* Experience/understanding of spill response requirements
* Working knowledge of Environmental Regulations
The Alliance Refinery is located on the Mississippi River in Belle Chasse, Louisiana, approximately 25 miles southeast of New Orleans, Louisiana. The singletrain facility includes crude distilling, naphtha reforming, fluid catalytic cracking, alkylation, hydrodesulfurization, aromatics and delayed coking units. It processes mainly light and medium, low-sulfur crude oil. The refinery receives domestic crude oil through a combination of pipelines, marine transportation and terminals. The refinery produces a high percentage of transportation fuels. Other products include petrochemical feedstocks, home heating oil and anode grade petroleum coke. Refined products are distributed to customers in the southeastern and eastern United States through major pipeline systems and by barge. Refined products are exported primarily to Latin America by waterborne cargo.
