Job Description
* Route orders daily in compliance with the transportation route guide; ensuring timely execution to meet the requested ship date and secure carrier capacity ahead of the competition.
* Operate the Transportation Management System (TMS) to route orders, track carrier performance and troubleshoot any loads that may be at risk of missing requested arrival date
* Ensure all new orders comply with Quaker guidelines on weight and method of shipment.
* Work with carriers to schedule all inbounds to our facility
* Schedule appointments in WMS on all loads; working with the campus manager and third party facility manager on dock capacity scheduling
* Work with drop carriers to maintain trailer pool.
* Work with Customer Account Specialists (CAS) on scheduling issues.
* Work with appropriate parties on loads not scheduled by end of period.
* Maintain reason code input within SAP for open order status reporting
* Review previous days dock schedule to ensure all orders shipped, if not, re-schedule
* Advise shipping office of any special shipping requirements
* Accountable for Sarbanes Oxley compliance on the Overdue Mill Transit Receipts Report and Shipment Status Report
* Fax daily yard check to appropriate carrier.
* Maintain load sheet and transportation related files
* Will be cross trained to support other distribution center functions
* All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements
* 1-2 years experience in Transportation or Logistics related field.
* A degree in Supply Chain or Business is preferred, but not required
* Strong MS Office skills required ((Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point and Access),
* SAP and WMS experience a plus
* Strong communication skills including good verbal, written and listening skills
* Strong organizational skills
* Strong analytical and problem solving skills
* Ability to work autonomously/self starter
* Team player
* Ability to consistently achieves desired results, manages multiple tasks, set priorities, acts decisively and sets personal high standards
* Willingness to work Over time and non-Monday-Friday work week, as needed
