PepsiCo is seeking a communications professional with strong writing skills, media analysis and superior professional acumen. This exciting stepping stone into the fast-paced global corporate communications team is a critical role for the department, enabling informed, coordinated storytelling, with a direct line to top company executives and communications leaders across sectors and brands. From sharing important company, competitor, partner, trend, and issues news, to correlating corporate and brand announcements, to overseeing key communications tools. The role requires a deep understanding of and appetite for news, the ability to quickly read and synthesize news, strong writing skills, proactive research abilities, as well as the acumen to converse daily with C-suite executives.
Accountabilities
* Deliver always-on monitoring capabilities of news stories related to PepsiCo, the companys brands, competitors, and customers, as well as relevant issues and trends
* Provide analysis of news stories, trends and issues
* Support earned media capabilities by ensuring accuracy in all PepsiCo related news
* Development and editing of daily Media Update
* Editing and review of daily Bulletin Intelligence
* Maintain Corporate Coverage Tracker for accurate, real-time results and reporting across proactive announcements and storytelling efforts
* Support with media list development and maintenance, such as identifying potential new press relationships and outlets based on related coverage
* Liaise with global corporate and brand communications teams to correlate upcoming announcements
* Collaborate with internal communications and digital teams to amplify positive PepsiCo and brand stories through owned / social channels
* Oversee partnerships with third-party partners like Bulletin Intelligence, PR Newswire, MuckRack, etc.
* Facilitate corporate press release sends via PR Newswire
Qualifications/Requirements
Qualifications:
* The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of experience working in a fast-paced, news-driven environment within a large global company or PR agency
* Outstanding understanding of the media, media climate and news cycle
* Excellent writing skills
* Ability to prioritize and multi-task
* Attention to detail, organized and proactive follow-through
* Online research abilities
* A genuine interest in, and understanding of, earned media and news
* A strong appetite for current events and how they impact business
* An understanding of social media and the changing media landscape
* Strong communicator who is comfortable working with and supporting C-suite executives
* Bachelors degree from four-year College or University with focus on Communications/English
