Kenworth Truck Company is the manufacturer of The Worlds Best heavy and medium duty trucks. Kenworth is an industry leader in providing fuel-saving technology solutions that help increase fuel efficiency and reduce emissions. The companys dedication to the green fleet includes aerodynamic trucks, compressed and liquefied natural gas trucks, and medium duty diesel-electric hybrids.

Job Summary
Kenworth is expanding its Air Systems Engineering team to include integration of electrified powertrains as well as advanced diesel powertrains. We are looking to add engineers to the team that are knowledgeable in vehicle air systems integration and have experience or the desire to gain experience in air systems design. Our ideal candidates will be motivated to contribute to a new generation of vehicles at Kenworth and PACCAR globally.
This position is within the Systems Engineering department at Kenworth. Responsibilities will include requirements definition, investigative, development, coordination, and implementation activities. The team will interface with other teams at PACCAR developing other related systems and represent North American vehicle requirements in our global organization.

Here's what you will do in this role:
Define requirements for, evaluate, design, and select air systems components appropriate for PACCAR diesel, battery electric vehicle (BEV), and other alternative power source vehicles.
Define integration requirements and lead the implementation into medium and heavy duty trucks.
Utilize Pro/E to create optimized parts and assembly of complex designs.
Drive chosen supplier partners to meet program schedules and milestones.
Work with internal and external organizations on issue identification, root cause analysis, design, validation, product release, and field support.
Support efforts with lead teams at other PACCAR divisions to ensure successful global launches of PACCAR vehicles. Includes interfacing with PACCAR Technical Center, Peterbilt, DAF, and PACCAR Purchasing.
Communicate results and progress to team and stakeholders on a regular basis and facilitate technology transfer between PACCAR divisions.
Manage vehicle-related issue resolution projects cradle-to-grave in all areas of the truck.
Up to 20% travel possible

Required Skills:
BSME or equivalent engineering degree required
2+ years of experience in the specification and design of complex automotive components required
Experience working within a gated product creation process desired
Experience with system-level requirements development, component selection, integration, performance, and validation
Previously demonstrated resourcefulness, strong technical knowledge, analytical capability, and communication skills
Self-directed with excellent analysis and engineering judgement
Collaborative nature, fosters a sense of team across groups and cultures
Demonstrated high levels of initiative and innovation
Ability to perform in a fast-pace, results-oriented environment, while managing multiple priorities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Skills:
Masters Degree and PE license preferred
Project management, and/or design lead experience preferred
Experience working within a gated product creation process desired
Experience working with Creo preferred
Past experience working onsite at a PACCAR facility is a plus
