Basic Job Functions:
The Maintenance Tech position will be responsible for working to the highest levels of safety, quality, and productivity. This teammate will be responsible for performing all types of maintenance duties in an industrial setting. The duties will include but are not limited to working with hydraulics and pneumatics, electrical troubleshooting, fabrication, machine installation, and preventative maintenance. The teammate must have a working knowledge of a multi-meter to troubleshoot electrical problems (low voltage control circuits, 110 thru 480 single and three phase electrical circuits as well as be familiar with electrical controls, VFDs and electrical switch gear. The teammate must be willing to work overtime with little or no notice as well as rotating shifts and weekends and holidays if needed.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Must be able to demonstrate willingness/ability mentioned above in the Basic Functions.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Previous industrial maintenance experience
2. Formal education or training in a maintenance related field
3. The ability/willingness to learn/perform PLC programming and troubleshooting

The Raw Materials segment produces direct reduced iron (DRI); processes ferrous and nonferrous metals; brokers ferrous and nonferrous metals, pig iron, DRI, and hot briquetted iron; supplies ferro-alloys; and processes ferrous and nonferrous scrap metal, as well as engages in the natural gas drilling operations. This segment sells its ferrous scrap to electric arc furnace steel mills and foundries for manufacturing process; and nonferrous scrap metal to aluminum can producers, secondary aluminum smelters, steel mills and other processors, and consumers of various nonferrous metals.
