Job Description

Introduction

The Local Fleet Supervisor is responsible for all activities associated with the company Fleet consisting of vehicles, trailers, and motorized equipment. Primary responsibilities include: execution of the fleet maintenance program, managing local vendor services, collaborating and partnering with internal and external business partners, developing vehicle preventive maintenance schedules, coordination of vehicle or equipment outfitting, capital purchasing of fleet units, and managing all maintenance activities within the Oamp;M budget developed.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

* Serve as the primary liaison for all fleet business needs with operations, fleet vendors, supply chain and other work groups within the area of responsibility.
* Execute NiSource Fleet Maintenance Program
* Manage vehicle and unit maintenance through vendor managed facilities
* Develop vehicle preventive maintenance schedules and communicate to internal business partners.
* Coordinate outfitting for fleet assets.
* Evaluate condition of local fleet vehicles to determine asset life cycle requirements and replacements.
* Collaboration with Fleet Specifications personnel regarding issues or required changes.
* Responsible for fleet asset disposal and auction process.
* Provide fleet catalog specification inputs using customer feedback to Fleet Specifications personnel
* Develop vehicle replacement strategy through collaboration with Fleet Peers and Operations Management team.
* Continually assess the value provided by maintenance service providers
* Manage all maintenance activities within the Oamp;M budget ~~developed~~ and perform analysis in partnership with operations personnel to ensure feasibility of capital investments.
* Provides skilled fleet support for operations area regarding licensing, ordering, and all fleet related reporting

Required for Selection:

* Two (2) years utility industry or related support experience
* High School diploma or equivalent
* Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Dashboards and Internet/Intranet
* Knowledge of fleet management programs or equivalentnbsp;
* Strong communication skills and the ability to take initiative
* Strong customer service skills

Working Knowledge:

Local, State and Federal Laws/Regulations related to safe vehicle operation and maintenance, vehicle management system functionality, automotive/truck technology

Location may be flexible within the Virginia NiSource facilities and territory.

Relocation assistance is NOT available for this position.
