Introduction
The (IT Systems Analyst, Sr IT Systems Analyst, Lead IT Systems Analyst) has specialized functional and/or technical knowledge and demonstrated experience in a particular business application and/or technology domain and is accountable for application support in their assigned domain. This will require strong coordination with business partners and IT service providers to ensure IT adheres to the agreed to Operating Level Agreements (OLAs) and defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs). This role is responsible to drive the performance of our IT Service Providers and provide enhanced guidance for technical problem support and issue management and will be responsible to ensure proper systems documentation is reviewed, approved, and maintained in the repository of record by service providers. This role has knowledge or will learn the business processes by which their application is utilized and will participate in solution of designs for small to medium size capabilities, including gathering requirements, writing technical specifications, configuration and performing testing or other assignments as defined. The (IT Systems Analyst, Sr IT Systems Analyst, Lead IT Systems Analyst) works under the direction of the Manager IT Applications. This is a role with business application technology expertise primarily required. Excellent communication and collaboration skills are required, as is a strong understanding of the functional business area.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
* Partners with business and IT service providers to ensure timely resolution of systems issues, or escalate as appropriate
* Participates in solution of designs for small to medium size capabilities, upgrades, and disaster recovery exercises, etc.
* Supports the development of service provider teams as they work to learn NiSource systems and processes
* Develops and maintains relationships with key end users
* Brings technical and functional subject matter expertise to help with technology roadmap planning. This is particularly important for integrations work.
* Continues to build knowledge of assigned functional domain
* Identifies LEAN opportunities and drive measurable continuous improvement. This is particularly important as we identify opportunities to shift-left, automate, reduce non-IT work across our teams, and create a focus on ITIL best practices.
* Fosters innovation by staying abreast of emerging application management trends and assessing their potential operational uses/value at NiSource
* Supports Service Provider and internal team achievement of Service Level Agreements
* High/improving customer satisfaction scores (business partners and end users)
* JD Power scores in alignment with NiSource goals
* Contributes to positive teaming
* Focuses on safety.
* Focuses on system stability, security, compliance
* Ensures systems documentation is kept up to date, including APM
* Adherence to administrative deadlines and processes

Required Qualifications for Position
Lead IT Systems Analyst:
* Bachelors degree in Information Systems Management, Business Administration, or equivalent experience required
* Minimum 5 years IT experience required, or equivalent business super user role
* Demonstrated technical project management experience or demonstrated working knowledge of the fundamentals of project management methodologies required
* Demonstrated working knowledge of LEAN/Continuous improvement fundamentals required
* Regulated utility experience required
* Minimum 5 years technical and/or functional background in the application technology domain required.
* Developed analytical skills needed
* Attention to detail and bias for action required, as this position will help lead and guide distributed support teams
* Demonstrated experience leading teams
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal) required
* Some on-call support required
Senior IT Systems Analyst:
* Minimum 3 years IT experience required, or equivalent business super user role
* Minimum 3 years technical and/or functional background in the application technology domain required
* Bachelors Degree in Information Systems Management, Business Administration, or equivalent experience required.
* Developed analytical skills needed
* Attention to detail
* Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
* Some on call support required
IT Systems Analyst:
* 1 to 3 years IT experience required, or equivalent business super user role
* 1 to 3 years technical and/or functional background in the application technology domain required
* Bachelors Degree in Information Systems Management, Business Administration, or equivalent experience required.
* Developed analytical skills needed
* Attention to detail
* Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
* Some on call support required
Preferred Additional Qualifications for Position
* PMP and/or Agile certifications
* Experience working with distributed teams desired
* Familiarity with applications (hosting, information management, networking, etc.)
* ITIL certification strongly preferred.
* Technical certifications preferred
