Position Specific Description
NextEra Energy Inc. is seeking a Senior Accountant at the Juno Beach location. In this role you will report to the Accounting Supervisor and focus mainly on Regulated Property Accounting related activities.
Specific duties and responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:
* Responsible for activities in the areas of compliance, transactional accounting, reporting and analytics required to support Florida Power and Light Transmission operations
* Review and monitor internal orders in accordance with SOX
* Responsible for month end close processes including preparing journal entries and various reporting deliverables
* Responsible for balance sheet & income statement variance reporting
* Responsible for assigned accounts reconciliations
* Support monthly, quarterly & annual reporting and filings requirements (SEC, FERC, FPSC)
* Support various projects as assigned
* Prepare ad hoc analyses and reports as needed

Job Duties & Responsibilities
Prepares financial reports that are in compliance with GAAP, in a timely manner, to accurately reflect the financial status of the company
Maintains a good understanding of, and applies, GAAP, SEC regulations, and relative company policies, practices and procedures
Assures accounting integrity of corporate financial data through the implementation of appropriate internal controls
Prepares schedules and journal entries
Provides guidance and direction to other team members
Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's - Accounting / Finance / Business
Experience: 5+ years
