The Power Virtual Agents (PVA) team is looking for an exceptional engineer who is passionate about our vision to make it simple & intuitive for enterprise customers to build, manage and deploy virtual agents (intelligent chat bots) without needing to rely on developers or AI experts - a multi-billion-dollar opportunity for Microsoft. PVA is part of Citizen Application Platform (CAP) aka Power Platform. Power Platform is a single, high productivity platform that spans Office 365, Dynamics 365, and standalone applications. Fundamentally democratizing business processes and empowering citizens to make smarter, faster decisions relying on Power apps, Power BI, Power Automate and now a new addition Power Virtual Agents.

As a software engineer on the team, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, release, and maintenance of large, cross-team UX features with dependencies on AI and natural language processing. You will be accountable for the features from development to production, focusing on automated tests to enable continuous delivery at scale, with a quality-first mindset. This is an agile, data-driven, and fast-paced environment, where engineers are empowered to innovate and take ideas from concept to scale. This role requires strong collaboration skills as you will work directly with PM and Design to ensure that the UX effectively abstracts the underlying NLP concepts.

* Build responsive, user-delighting web experiences that look great across multiple devices, browsers, and surfaces
* Collaborate with partner teams to design, implement and deliver end-to-end systems and experiences
* Prototype and iterate on designs, while collaborating with other feature teams
* Review and influence ongoing design, architecture, standards and methods for operating services or systems
* Ensure availability, latency, scalability, and performance needs are addressed by promoting engineering reliability in software and systems
* Focus on operability of the service including security, privacy, resiliency, business continuity & disaster recovery
* Contribute to team-wide engineering investments
* Maintain an unwavering focus on Quality of Service and execute with high accountability

Required Qualifications:

* 5+ years industry experience in production services and web client development
* 3+ years demonstratable experience building accessible, maintainable, production-quality client code with TypeScript, React, Redux, Webpack
* Minimum of a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Design, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent alternative education, skills, and/or practical experience is required

Preferred Qualifications:

* An eye for visual design and experience working with designers
* Passion for delivering high quality/delightful user experience
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
* Self-motivated and customer focused.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Familiarity with chatbots and NLP concepts is a plus but not required
